Help!

I'm pretty sure it's a boy I'm having and we can't decide on a name. We are both Scottish - one with irish connections.

So far I've got-

Fergus (my fav but husband thinks of Fergus McCann)
Cillian (like but a bit concerned it's very right now)
Callum (perhaps too popular)
Fraser (not 100% on surname names)

If it is a girl then she will be Morven.

Love Cillian, Rory and Lachlan

Sorry really don’t like Morven It just sounds so harsh and ugly especially next to Saoirse which is a beautiful name.

Didyeeaye · 17/02/2019 13:39

Love Fergus! If it helps I would never associate it with McCann.
Also love;
Ruaridh
Lachlan
Flynn
Alasdair
Murdo

How about Fergal or Ferghal, as a variation on Fergus?

Divgirl2 · 17/02/2019 15:08

Dillon?
I love Cillian though, and I've never met one in the flesh (live in Scotland). It's an absolutely gorgeous name. Think the "irish" spelling would be Cillín though.
I don't really like Morven, it sounds so dreary compared to beautiful Saoirse.

cstaff · 17/02/2019 15:12

It has to be Ronan doesn't it Grin

Skirmisher · 17/02/2019 15:24

I have never met a boy called Cillín in Ireland. They are always Cillian or Killian.

I like Fergus best from your list OP.

What about Cormac? No pronunciation issues with that one.

otterturk · 17/02/2019 15:25

How do you pronounce saiorse and morven? Beautiful looking but haven't encountered in person

Ribbonsonabox · 17/02/2019 15:28

Oh I love Morven!

I like Cillian the best but the you would have the names of two currently popular actors which could be a bit odd...
Fergus is nice too so I'd go with that.

Skirmisher · 17/02/2019 15:29

Saoirse = Seer-sha
Morven = More-vun

ILoveMaxiBondi · 17/02/2019 15:29

Odràn

Do you mean Odhrán?

ILoveMaxiBondi · 17/02/2019 15:30

OP I like Rory and Lachlan.

YahBasic · 17/02/2019 15:39

Some of my favourite names of all time on here.

Cillian
Cormac
Tadhg

Are all on our list, along with Caleb.
