I thought of this lovely girls name today so thought I would share as I've never heard it as a name or even suggested as a name.

It would also be a lovely middle name.

Too much like three (particularly in an Irish accent).

lookingatthings · 14/02/2019 18:48

How strange. I came across this as a name for the first time today- there's a film out currently called Happy Death Day 2U and the main character is called Tree...

Kescilly · 14/02/2019 20:09

I have a friend named Tree and it suits her really well. If it’s short for something she’s never mentioned it. She goes by Tree everywhere I’ve seen.

Avamore · 14/02/2019 22:04

I just looked up that film Happy death day to you! Never heard of it. Not my cup of tea as I don't do watch horrors, but I really hope it inspires a few little Trees out there as I would love to meet some little ones named that in the future.

It might inspire a whole forest of Trees.

littlebillie · 14/02/2019 22:13

Tree as an inspiration ie Laurel, Hazel, Ash

ozymandiusking · 14/02/2019 22:18

They could always audition for a part in a production of Stickman.

MissTyne · 14/02/2019 22:22

😂😂😂 @sagradafamiliar

Divgirl2 · 14/02/2019 22:35

Can you imagine Tree falling in the playground? You'd not hear their cries for people yelling "TIMBER"

Angie169 · 14/02/2019 22:51

Tree is not a name i would pick but Twiggy did ok with her name

Fazackerley · 14/02/2019 22:53

It's the heroines name in Happy Death Day.

SemperIdem · 14/02/2019 22:53

Her real name is Lesley though

MsTSwift · 14/02/2019 23:00

It’s daft. Poor kid - don’t do it. She will hate you when she’s 13

Wakk · 14/02/2019 23:04

Is that you, Gwyneth?

Postmissposte · 14/02/2019 23:06

Initial impression is a lame attempt at a nature name- trying hard but with little imagination. But I'd get used to it if I met someone called Tree, I guess. It's better than some of the names some of my friends have recently bestowed upon their unfortunate offspring.

BackforGood · 14/02/2019 23:38

I thought of this lovely girls name today so thought I would share as I've never heard it as a name or even suggested as a name.

So, you didn't think of a name, as you indeed have said - it isn't a girls name.

You thought of a noun, and decided that you think it would suit a person.

Mind, I can't see how it is any different / dafter than River or Storm or WIllow or any other nouns that have been bestowed upon dc over the years.

PopcornPopPop · 15/02/2019 01:03

I once met a man called Tree. I’ve always wondered if it was his real name

Marcipex · 15/02/2019 09:40

I do know a Leaf. Definitely not Leif.
Willow, Rowan, Ashley, Oakley. Elmer, all seem more usable than Tree.
I know, Douglas!

aliceandkids77 · 15/02/2019 16:48

personally I don't like Tree by itself, think it could be ok as a nn for Teresa or Theodora maybe? also as someone else said it sounds a bit more like a boys name to me xx

aliceandkids77 · 15/02/2019 16:50

oh wow- whoever said when she (Tree) would fall, people would shout timber- you're bloody brilliant!! made me giggle haha

EstrellaDamn · 15/02/2019 17:09

You didn't 'think of a lovey girls name' Confused

You thought of a random object and decided it would be appropriate to lumber a baby with it.

If you think it's so cool, it's not that hard to change your name by deed poll, or so I hear.

Tree, FFS

WheelyCote · 15/02/2019 18:54

Ive had a glass of wine so had to double read the name.

Now i work with kids and see some very i teresting stand out names.

Most can be ok but not this one, please.

Call her Theresa and tree / Trea...as your shortened name for her. Like a personal family name that only loved ones, get to call her.

This means when you need to use her sunday best name....Theresa is a bit more authoritive
