Baby here, arrived fast and 3 weeks early. No names picked out. DH wants Wren. What do folk think?

I like either classic/ old lady or modern unusual (Persephone, Ophelia, Ada, Eden).

We haven't announced it yet and are currently giving it a try.

Love it, was on my list

Orchidflower1 · 19/01/2019 09:43

Congratulations Flowers
There was a thread on here a while ago ? November time ish you could look for that ( unless you started that thread op) and lots of people commented but predominantly people ( if recall ) were discussing the possibility of a tomboy/ adult with a bird name. I’m rubbish as searching etc or I would have linked it.

Orchidflower1 · 19/01/2019 09:45

I’ve found it op but I can’t open it- told you I was rubbish. Don’t know if it’s just me or if it’s down?

First thing that comes to mind is the ren & stimpty cartoon.

FamilyOfAliens · 19/01/2019 09:51

Looks nice written dowN

doesn’t sound very nice - kind of half finished.

Was going to post exactly this.

bringbacksideburns · 19/01/2019 09:53

Dd has a friend called Wren. I think it's quirky and lovely.

Ophelia and Persephone are bloody awful though.

JollyGiraffe · 19/01/2019 10:01

Hazel?

rainbowstardrops · 19/01/2019 10:02

I like it. I like Eden too.

Cookit · 19/01/2019 10:06

Lovely

MrsBungle · 19/01/2019 10:09

Wren is lovely.

17caterpillars1mouse · 19/01/2019 10:19

I like it, think its cute and a bit fiesty. It is a bit short for my tastes though. Saying that i like Ada (though know a few newborn Ada's) and Eden best

BernardsarenotalwaysSaints · 19/01/2019 10:25

I love it. It was our girl choice with dc4 & dc5 but both were boys. I told my Dad what the girl name was after dc4 was born & as soon as we told him about dc5 he asked if that would be the girl name.

JulietAconite · 19/01/2019 10:25

Hmmm nice for a little girl but no great for an adult. Suggests smallness and timidity to me.
Ok for nickname or second name.

pollyhampton · 19/01/2019 10:29

I love Lark. The baby in Life In Pieces is called Lark and I thought it was a beautiful name!

Justbackfromnewwine · 19/01/2019 10:30

Sweet. There are a couple of toddler/child Wrens around here

SatsumaFan · 19/01/2019 10:31

Agree nice written down, but when said aloud sounds like Ren and Stimpy.

Also, but kitchen company around here....

Cyclingforcake · 19/01/2019 10:32

I like it. I’ve also heard it as a nn for Florence. Although I suspect that’s Ren.

Darkbaptism · 19/01/2019 10:34

I really like it.

Butterfly84 · 19/01/2019 11:33

I like it.

OlennasWimple · 19/01/2019 12:40

I like Robin better

MikeUniformMike · 19/01/2019 15:15

Go for it. Congratulations.

Jiggins · 19/01/2019 15:27

The first time I heard it I thought it was quite charming and unusual. But suddenly I've come across a chime of human Wrens (I had to google the collective noun Smile ) and I suspect it's going to be one of those names that doesn't age particularly well eg. Tracey. Mega popular for five years and then dropped for being far too of its time.

Just something to keep in mind.

Jiggins · 19/01/2019 15:28

see also: Willow.

DramaAlpaca · 19/01/2019 15:28

I don't like it at all. Sorry.

Stinkytoe · 19/01/2019 15:28

Give your child a proper name OP, don’t call her after a bird.

Your choice in names is a lot better than your husband’s....
