I like the name Helena but only if it’s Hell-AYN-a. Not a fan of HELL-ehn-a

HELL-ehn-a I know a couple of varying ages and that's how they all pronounce it

I never know which to go for and always ask first if I see it

But don’t let it put you off OP. My DD has a name which can be pronounced differently in different places. It’s not a big deal - all her friends pronounce it the way we pronounce it.

Lovely name. I much prefer the HELL-en-a but I’m not keen on hel-ay-na.

I always ask the person (adult or child) how they pronounce it. My default pronunciation is Helen-a.

Until H Bonham Carter came along I’d only heard it pronounced as Hel lay nah. I believe either pronunciation is acceptable .
