I started a thread about Flora with our surname and it was mostly positive. So what's your favourite of these and opinions on the others. Surname Forde. Thanks!
Florence
Flora
Willow
Ciara
Alana

My favourite would be Ciara Forde

Linnet · 05/01/2019 16:14

Ciara Forde

Happilyacceptingcookies · 05/01/2019 16:17

Ciara.
Since Forde could also be a natural feature like a ford, I feel it doesn't work with willow or flora. Florence could also work though?

Awwlookatmybabyspider · 05/01/2019 16:24

Ciara by a billion miles.
Flora and Florence are too tongue twisty.

Alana Force is beautiful but it sounds like Carna afford. (Can't Afford)

daisypond · 05/01/2019 16:34

Flora is my preferred name out of your list by far.
How would you pronounce Ciara? The Irish way? It's like Keira Knightley, I think. I prefer the Italian Chiara much more. I think you'll get pronunciation issues with Ciara, and that would put me off.
I'm not keen on Willow or Alana. Florence is nice, but Flora is nicer.

Choosinganame · 05/01/2019 16:40

I'm really surprised by everyone liking Ciara so much!
It would be pronounced the Irish way, like Keira. I am put off it a bit by all the potential pronunciation issues!

SoupDragon · 05/01/2019 16:43

Ciara. I've only ever heard it pronounced Keira so I don't think there will be many pronunciation issues. Maybe the odd "see-ah-ra".

TatianaLarina · 05/01/2019 17:05

I wonder if you’re one of the Fordes I know.

Don’t love any of them tbh. Any more?

Choosinganame · 05/01/2019 17:14

Hmm we like Alexandra but it isn't very 'us' nothing else has really made it on the list.
I really like nature names but DH has vetoed a lot for being too silly and he's probably right.

They are all so lovely you can't go wrong in my eyes. Go with your heart or gut feel!!!

Wallabyone · 05/01/2019 20:41

The first thing I thought (stupidly!) was Ciara-Sierra-Ford-CARS!

OhTheRoses · 05/01/2019 20:43

Clara

abcriskringle · 05/01/2019 20:46

I like Flora and Willow but my favourite is Alexandra if that is officially on your list!

madeyemoodysmum · 05/01/2019 21:05

Ciara then flora

FrazzyAndFrumpled · 05/01/2019 21:07

I know a Ciara Forde! Helpful as that is Grin

Til89 · 05/01/2019 21:13

Willow.

Choosinganame · 05/01/2019 21:41

I think I might take Ciara off if that's allowed Grin
Having most people choose that one disappointed me which makes me realise it probably isn't 'the one' the Sierra, ci-ar-ah thing worries me.
Alexandra hovers on and off. I love it but it's very grand next to DS's shorter, less formal name and I'm not overly keen on Alex.
Any suggestions welcome. Would ideally love something nature based, not too 'out there'. For example Juniper is gorgeous but we couldn't pull it off.

Til89 · 05/01/2019 21:48

Violet?

Astronica · 05/01/2019 23:53

Pity about Ciara - my clear favourite from your list with your surname. I would live with the pronunciation issues.

I love Flora and Florence but not with Forde. The only one on your list I'm not keen on is Alana which feels a bit bland and dated compared with the other names. Juniper is really good! Not nature names, but I like Ellen (under-used for such a streamlined vintage name), Alice, Edith, Celia, Greta, Tessa with surname.

beanaseireann · 06/01/2019 00:05

Alana

muddiecuddles · 06/01/2019 03:28

Our last name is Forde! And Flora and Florence were on our recent list for DD. We went with Phoebe Grace in the end and I love it. I don't think it's tongue twisty at all.

PinkFluffyFairy · 06/01/2019 03:37

Alana

Frogletmamma · 06/01/2019 03:40

Rowen?

Piebeansandchips · 06/01/2019 03:55

Love Flora Forde. Totally imagining a kick ass strong girl ruling the world, or anything else she wants to be

MrWolfknowsthetime · 06/01/2019 04:02

Flora Forde is fine, it’s not hard to say at all.

I don’t really like Willow anyway (bit wishy washy), but it’s worse with Forde. Makes me think of a tree that’s fallen down in a stream.

Flora Forde definitely has kick-ass potential. Nice, strong name.
