Thoughts? My dh has mentioned it a few times now and it's really growing on me.

I like known/familiar names which aren't super popular, I also like Tabby as a nickname.

The cat association doesn't bother me.

Tia.

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

Our youngest is a Tabitha and gets lots of compliments on her name. my OH chose it and I wasn't sold to begin with, but I love it now, it suits her so well. She's usually called Tabs, Tabby, or Tibble (who knows why?!) Some people have commented that it's "posh", and I just say "try telling her that" 😂.

I know of a human girl called Tabitha who is pretty cool and interesting, so it has positive associations for me. I didn't even know some people thought of it as a cat's name until just a few years ago - I'd somehow completely missed the children's book in question.

Belindabauer · 04/01/2019 23:40

I really like it. Don't know any either.

Dollyandteddy · 08/01/2019 19:58

I’ve got a Tabitha/Tabs and love it. Most importantly, she loves it too! The whole cat thing is ridiculous- ignore.

Loopytiles · 08/01/2019 20:01

Dislike it, associate it with spoiled, posh girls

AdultHumanFemale · 08/01/2019 20:02

It keeps coming up on here, I really like it.

IHeartMarmiteToast · 08/01/2019 20:03

I know one and she's lovely and a bit of a yummy mummy!

greenybluey · 08/01/2019 20:13

Love it. I know a lovely one and wanted it for our DD (however DH vetoed it as he says it's a cats name...

InSightMars · 08/01/2019 21:25

DS1 would have been Tabitha if he'd been a girl, always loved the name since I was a child, another fan of Bewitched. I've never met one in real life. not even a cat one, and I've been around a good while so it's clearly not that common. Go for it OP.

Changedyetagain · 08/01/2019 22:35

Lovely name, not overly popular but not too out there either

Beeziekn33ze · 08/01/2019 23:32

Friend's DD had Tabitha as a middle name. In her teens she decided she wanted to be known as Tabitha. Lovely name!

mummytwoh · 18/01/2019 08:10

I love it. I only know one and she's 4

Battenburg1978 · 18/01/2019 08:36

Love it! DD has a friend at nursery called Tabitha, Tabs for short. Super cute.

17caterpillars1mouse · 18/01/2019 08:48

Im not keen. The lady who runs our baby music class has a stepdaughter called Tabitha though (shes 7 or 8) so it does seem usable

tammytoby · 18/01/2019 09:01

Tabitha is beautiful.

MollyHuaCha · 18/01/2019 09:02

Love it.

TatianaLarina · 18/01/2019 12:20

Prefer Talitha.

Tabby’s not a very nice nn.

SecretWitch · 18/01/2019 12:31

Tabitha is a lovely name. It sounds very feminine but strong at the same time. I may or may not be a Tabitha Wink
