Wanted, a great name for a boy

This is driving me to distraction.
Induction booked for Monday, and we can’t agree on a name for our boy. We already have Ivy and Fred who are very excited about meeting their baby brother and want to call him George Leopard Leo Grin

DP wants Jack, children love George and I like Maxim or Albert. Any suggestions?

Middle names likely to be Joseph Graham.

Leonard. Could have Leon/Lenny/Len/Leo as a shortened version.

Vincent/Vinny (top of my list at the moment, Albert is second)

Jake instead of Jack?

Francis/Frannie/Frankie

Henry/Harry

Archer/Archie

lozengeoflove · 23/11/2018 14:09

Love, love, love Leonard (Len, Lennie etc) but DP won’t have it as one of his friends has Freddie and Lennie Sad

He is veering towards George, and while George is lots better than Jack, IMHO, I’m still not really excited about it.

It’s my youngests name so I’m totally biased when I say how amazing it is. (I also have a Stan!)

Fwiw George does sound lovely with your older dc but I know what you mean about not being excited by it.

Isaac Joseph Graham

Magnus Joseph Graham

lozengeoflove · 23/11/2018 18:29

Love Magnus. Can’t use it.

What about Soren Joseph Graham?

Icklepup · 24/11/2018 14:09

Abram
Linus
Silas

MikeUniformMike · 24/11/2018 14:41

Call him Leopard nn Leo.

Sessy19 · 25/11/2018 14:29

Your children have pretty solid, respectable names. I’m a fan. What about William?
George and Jack are, imho, pretty dull. The popularity has really killed them for me. I know William is still pretty high, but it’s just...I don’t know, it’s just better!! 😂😂

NameChange30 · 25/11/2018 14:37

Albert - dislike, plus I think it's one of those annoyingly fashionable names atm
George - don't like association with prince, plus you can't have Fred and George
Jack - too popular and boring
Maxim - love, would be Max for short which is a classic

Some other suggestions, similar to Jack:
Jake
James
Zach/Zack

Love George Joseph - Ivy, Fred and George go great together

lozengeoflove · 25/11/2018 14:54

Induction is tomorrow. DP is happy to go with George.
I really don’t know anymore Shock.

You really don't have to decide today. Wait and see what he looks like!

Just call him James it's the best name.

NameChange30 · 25/11/2018 15:00

Ivy, Fred and James

James Joseph Graham Scott

See?! Grin

(Shame about Graham!)

lozengeoflove · 25/11/2018 15:05

Don’t get me started, name. Sadly it’s DP’s dad’s name, who passed away couple of years ago Sad. He was a good egg.

I don’t like J J initials next to each other, but yes, James is a great name.
Another option for middle names is Robert Graham...

NameChange30 · 25/11/2018 15:10

Oh no, I'm sorry for your loss Sad Flowers

DS has 4 names and his initials include JJ. I never thought of it tbh.

I think these combos are good
George Joseph Graham
James Robert Graham

(Out of nosiness interest, does Fred have your dad's first name as a middle name?)

lozengeoflove · 25/11/2018 15:50

Thanks you, name. DP was very close to his lovely dad and misses him terribly. At least he’s not insisting we use Graham as a first name. GrinGrinGrin

And no, Fred is Frederick William Ernest - DP’s grandads’ names, and DP’s own middle names.

SilverGiraffe7 · 25/11/2018 16:01

Eli / Elijah
Tom / Thomas
Matt / Matthew
Ben / Benjamin
Henry
Mark
Jon / Jonathan (to avoid the 'old man'!)
Nathan

NameChange30 · 25/11/2018 16:23

In that case you should use your dad's first or middle name - or is that already covered with Joseph or Robert?

SherlockHolmes · 25/11/2018 16:56

How about John? Your DH could call him Jack then if he wanted.
I also like Robin, Leon and Lawrence.

SherlockHolmes · 25/11/2018 16:56

Or Victor?

SherlockHolmes · 25/11/2018 16:57

I love the name Cnut, but DH wouldn't let me use if, for obvious reasons Grin

SherlockHolmes · 25/11/2018 16:58

Sorry to keep posting, but my neighbours have two boys, Magnus and Wilf. Thought if you liked Magnus you might like Wilf also.

ARRRGGGGHHHHHHH · 25/11/2018 17:07

I'm due on Tuesday and if it's a boy he'll be called Buddy. Other names I love are Sonny, Seb, Ace, Dexter, Maxwell. Can't think of any more off the top of my head!
