Suggestions for shortening ‘Electra’

We love the name Electra. But would rather not use Elle/Ellie-type shortened versions ourselves due to other family member’s names.

Any suggestions for shortening this?

Elle? Lexie?

Please do not call your girl Electra.. it is awful.

I like the name Electra!

It's a lovely name, but the Electra complex is what springs to mind.

Leccy would be quite a sweet nickname though!

I like it. But would naturally shorten it to El - Lexie is a good shout but unless that's what she introduces herself as/you introduce her as - I doubt she would get called it!

One of my friends is an Electra (she's about 23 years old I think!) - and she's amazing - really cool, cleaver, intelligent, artsy, kind and pretty. Her name is often shortened to Leccie (don't know how it's spelt though!)

Leccy are you serious? Leccy short for electric...got to put some credit on the leccy meter...

If you like Electra then be bold and call her Electra! If you like Lexi or Ellie then why go for something as unusual as Electra?

I like it. Why does it need shortening? I can't think of any logical non - Elle nicknames, but I'd just always use the full version personally.

It just reminds me of electricity. Or a stage name. Why you would shorten it to the leccy bill, God knows.

I've never heard of the Electra complex, so I wouldn't think of that. I think of Electra from comics.

Lexie is good I think.
