No! Annie is much nicer and less widely used too.

Why do you want to change?

moredoll · 01/11/2018 03:20

I like them both, so it depends on which suits the baby best and how well it goes with the surname.
If you're in England or Wales you have six weeks to register, so try them both before you decide. She won't mind!

AGirlCalledJohnny · 01/11/2018 03:29

No! I love Annie, and Anne is also lovely. Grace is ten a penny at the minute

Linziepie · 01/11/2018 03:32

I like both. Annie is more unusual than grace but both equally pretty.

offupop · 01/11/2018 03:36

Grace is a beautiful name.
Annie is a lovely and a fun name.

How do you feel your baby fits?

I felt an violet aura around my baby girl and just named her! He name suits her, and her personality.

Congrats on your little one x

RoboJesus · 01/11/2018 03:50

Annie-Grace would be a lovely name?

Elmo303 · 01/11/2018 07:06

How about Anna? A bit more graceful than Annie but you could still call her Annie as a sweet nn? Congratulations Smile

AtticaRose · 01/11/2018 07:21

Both are lovely.

I personally feel virtue names can be a bit hard to live up to, e.g. I know a very ungraceful Grace. So on that basis, I would go for Annie. Or Anna nn Annie.

ShowOfHands · 01/11/2018 07:24

Annie is beautiful.

Grace is probably nice too but there are thousands of them and it has become a bit "oh another one", sadly.

GreeboIsMySpiritAnimal · 01/11/2018 07:29

There's an Anne, an Annie, and an Anna in my DS's reception class, and one Grace, so I'd go with the name you like best and not worry about how popular it seems.

whiteroseredrose · 01/11/2018 07:30

Both lovely but I'd stick to Annie.

PrincessJuanita · 01/11/2018 07:32

Grace is a bit over used at the moment but gorgeous never the less.
Annie, cute, would you consider Anna then call her Annie day to day? A bit more scope when she's an adult.
Both nice names though so go for it if you feel strongly.

MsNowtyBach · 01/11/2018 07:40

Annie is gorgeous! Don't change it!

There are lots of Graces and it's becoming a bit overused.

Runnynosehunny · 01/11/2018 07:41

Anne actually means grace.

Loopytiles · 01/11/2018 07:41

Annie is nice!

I dislike Grace and feel it’s a name that pins unecessary expectations on a girl!

Sophronia · 01/11/2018 07:43

No, stick with Annie!

E20mom · 01/11/2018 07:54

I definitely would. I don't like Annie at all. I love Anna though.

17caterpillars1mouse · 01/11/2018 07:56

Love Annie

I like Grace but not as much as Annie

Polly99 · 01/11/2018 07:56

No, there are a zillion Graces. Annie is nice.

Cosmoa · 01/11/2018 07:58

Absolutely not! Annie is a much better name ❤️

TamiTayorismyparentingguru · 01/11/2018 08:05

I LOVE Annie - it was right up there at the top of our list for girls all 3 times, and just got pipped to the post each time. One of our DDs also has Grace as a middle name so I clearly like it too!

I personally wouldn’t go for Annie Grace as Anne/Anna/Annie means Grace so it would be a bit like calling your child Grace Grace.

FWIW if we had used it we would have gone with Elizabeth as a middle name - partly because we love the name, partly because we thought it flowed really well as a full name, and partly because it would give the child a variety of other options should they choose to ditch Annie later in life.

(I know that might seem like an odd thing to think about, but I really don’t like my name - never have, and wish I had another name I could switch to easily. Interestingly, my DTs love their middle names so much that they use them a lot and one of them says regularly that she would like to go by her middle name officially. We use middle names a fair bit in our family so it wouldn’t be too weird to call her by her middle name. (She’s too young to make that decision now - but if when she’s a teen she sill wants to go by her middle name we will happily oblige.))

daisypond · 01/11/2018 10:33

I much prefer Grace to Annie. If it was Anna and not Annie I might like that more.

Bootanicbanshee · 01/11/2018 10:38

Love Annie. Not so keen on Grace. Congratulations!

Buenavista · 01/11/2018 11:26

Annie!

AnElderlyLadyOfMediumHeight · 01/11/2018 13:32

Annie is really, really lovely! Stick with that. (Perhaps Anne on the BC. Not Anna - I adore it as a name too but I just don't think you can derive Annie from Anna).
