Oh I LOVE Annie!!! Grace doesn’t have a patch on it.

SuperstarDJ · 01/11/2018 14:49

I love the name Annie. Grace, whilst nice, is a bit blah and overused in comparison.

NameChangeToAvoidBeingFound · 01/11/2018 14:53

I know a couple who had this dilemma and ended up calling their baby Nancy Confused? I mean it also means grace just seems like a bit of a change. I know someone called Charis as well, which is the greek version of Grace (pronounced like charis in charisma).

MollyHuaCha · 01/11/2018 15:05

How about Anna? A bit more graceful than Annie but you could still call her Annie as a sweet nn?

I agree with Elmo!

Mumsnut · 01/11/2018 15:20

Grazia-Anna

Then use either Grace or Annie as a nickname when youge tto know her

JosellaPlayton · 01/11/2018 15:23

I like both but prefer Annie. Or how about Anna?

KaliforniaDreamz · 01/11/2018 15:25

I know an Annie and she really is the kindest girl. Lovely name. Keep it.

Icklepup · 01/11/2018 15:27

Stick with Annie!

Lindtnotlint · 01/11/2018 15:30

Three Graces in my daughter’s class so I wouldn’t! :-)

AlwaysFuckingTired · 01/11/2018 15:34

Annie has too much potential for fanny jokes so I'd go with Anna

AlphaJuno · 01/11/2018 15:37

I used to really like the name Grace but gone off it as it's become too popular. It's a name that doesn't suit everyone imo. Stick with Annie.

Santaisgettingbusy · 01/11/2018 15:42

Change it tomorrow tomorrow....
Much prefer Grace /Gracie

hallodarknessmyoldfriend · 01/11/2018 15:53

Annie is lovely

QuickWash · 01/11/2018 16:29

I've known some ungrateful Grace's.

Anna nn Annie would be my preference.

riotlady · 01/11/2018 16:40

I love Annie

Pemba · 01/11/2018 17:03

Annie is lovely, sweet name and much more unusual than Grace (although I quite like that). Annie Grace would be lovely, or Anna Grace as some pps suggest, (of course you can get Annie from Anna, why ever not?). Don't know why but Ann or Anne just doesn't appeal so much, seems a bit dull, although it is obviously classic. And Anne Grace doesn't flow so well.

Don't go sticking any tacky hyphens in there though!

Midlifemalteser · 01/11/2018 17:06

How about Gracie? I have one, she’s grown up now but her name is Gracie NOT GRACE! She has to tell people that sometimes! She lives her name.

UserNotBot · 01/11/2018 18:23

I would go with Anna. Much nice and very elegant.

MsTSwift · 02/11/2018 05:58

Annie is fab. Dd aged 10 with impeccable taste announced her future dd will be Annie.

Graces are two a penny round here and both Graces in my respective dds classes are dreadful.

Sessy19 · 02/11/2018 07:27

I do find it difficult to get excited about ANOTHER Grace. It’s soooo common now that it’s become pretty dull, insipid. Generic even.

Annie is suited to all ages, it’s fresher sounding, and it’s no where near as common!

But she’s your baby, don’t let other people sway your thinking...

masktaster · 02/11/2018 08:30

I know a couple who had this dilemma and ended up calling their baby Nancy confused? I mean it also means grace just seems like a bit of a change

Not really. Nancy was originally a NN for Ann/Anne/etc (can also be used for Agnes)

MsTSwift · 02/11/2018 08:56

FYI grace is the Sarah of this generation. A nice name but really really over used. Fine if it doesn’t bother you but there are lots.

AmbraS · 02/11/2018 09:04

Do not change it. Annie is lovely

offupop · 02/11/2018 19:00

I don’t think Grace is the Sarah of this generation! There is 1 Grace and 2 Gracie’s in my daughters year of 90 kids! Zero Annie’s though. 3 Arabella’s, 3 Charlie’s, etc etc

I think I had over 10 Sarah’s in my year at school of around 100 kids.

Annie is a nice name, more unusual. I also like Amy - definitely under used today. However I love Grace.

Backhometothenorth · 02/11/2018 21:23

Our DD1 is Annie- love her name. Our graceful, beautiful swan.
