Rufus, Hector or Benedict

My son will be born in February and my surname begins with an R. I like Rufus, Hector and Benedict for different reasons. What do you think?

To be pedantic it’s not the meaning of the actual word but a pejorative sense that evolved in the 18c. A bit like the negative use of gay.

Rufus. I have one and I’ve had so many compliments. Don’t be put off by the dog’s name connotations. I was worried about that too, but it’s actually a cool, strong name and there are a few more around these days. Felix is a great name but it’s also a popular cat’s name. I don’t think people think of that though when they meet a little boy Felix.
