So this is the list DH and I agree is OK.

Abigail
Eden
Elissa
Ella
Erin
Esme
Eva
Eve
Fearne
Felicity
Grace
Hope
Iris
Isobel
Ivy
Madeline
Skye
Summer
Willow

But we can't agree on one. I like Felicity and DH likes Iris. But I don't think either are "the one". He doesn't like the two I really really like (Caroline and Seren).

With DS it was easy, there was only ever one name and that was agreed on years before we even thought about TTC.

Great names!

Too cut it down I would look at your name criteria. Does something being really popular put you off a name? If so, work out the popular ones and cross them off.

Look at potetntial nicknames eg Abby for abagail. Don’t like em? Cross the name off.

Look at how the name works with your surname. What will the initials be? Can you eliminate some that way?

Other than that I would take a rest from thinking about names, enjoy the rest of your pregnancy and see what baby looks like when she arrives. Sometimes if you just stop thinking about something the perfect solution arrives. And if it doesn’t, all your names are great and once she’s a few months old you won’t be able to imagine her called anything else.

ReginaPhalange89 · 13/10/2018 21:25

I don't really like Iris tbh, it's very old lady sounding. As is Isobel. Felicity is lovely and I think the nn Flick is so cute

Ella, Eva and Eve are all very overused imo

Erin, fearne and Ivy are all really nice too

To narrow the list down have you tried writing them all down with your surname, tried calling them out loud to see how you feel about saying them, thought about potential Nicknames?

Overyou · 13/10/2018 21:26

I like Hope and Skye.

overagain · 13/10/2018 21:26

Rainbowqueeen with the exception of Iris (I don't like as too popular) we've cut it to those based on your criteria! Isobel used to be really popular, but I've not met one near us who is under 5. Eden is going up in popularity which is putting me off.

Petalflowers I really like Alexandra and Theadora but my friends daughter is Theadora and DH hates Alexandra!

Our last name is M and I don't like alliteration otherwise Maeve would be on my list (but not DHs)Violet was on our list but is really popular round here and I don't like it shortened to Vi.

I love the name Wren (pronounced Ren). Never heard it before DD went to primary school.
Also love the name Ophelia, Daisy and Lola

Hidillyho · 13/10/2018 21:27

Also like the name Edie

KnockMeDown · 13/10/2018 21:29

What is your DS name? To give us an idea of the kind of names you actually go for?

MrsReader · 13/10/2018 21:29

Felicity! It's my top choice too

RedDwarves · 13/10/2018 21:30

I like:
Fern (this spelling, not Fearne)
Felicity (but dislike all potential shortenings)
Grace
Madeleine (this spelling, but not a fan of Maddie)

I think you need to cut the list by at least half. Test them with your surname, potential middle names, look at the popularity of each name and decide whether that matters to you, look at the meaning of the names because that might write some off etc.

Belindabauer · 13/10/2018 21:31

Felicity Iris sounds nice.

Pebbleinthesand · 13/10/2018 21:36

Our DD is Phoebe and we were the same with her as you were with your son (she was named years before we were even married)
Some of the other names we like and would consider for another baby girl are Freya, Edie and Poppy.
I've tried to come up with some more for you but it seems I'm not great at thinking of baby girl names either. Good luck

MollyHuaCha · 13/10/2018 21:38

I used to love Iris, but it’s too close in sound to Isis which puts me off now. Your list is otherwise really nice though, I’m sure any of them would suit your baby - maybe wait until she’s born? Although it is nice to have it sorted, I do understand that. Is your son old enough to give him a few to choose from? Perhaps that’s another way to decide.

Shadow1234 · 14/10/2018 03:50

Neve is also a nice name

sepiatonedlover · 14/10/2018 06:45
