Which of these names do you like?

I desperately need help narrowing down my shortlist, DC1 is due in 2 weeks and I'm struggling to narrow it down so any opinions would be massively helpful!!

I like Amos and Martha

Amos and Martha.

Josef and Roman are lovely.
Amos is ok
Hux is horrendous.

Hettie and Iris are gorgeous

Eleska is horrible. Reminds me of Glasgow said in a neddish Glasgow accent and just looks like a typo of Alaska

I like Hettie and Iris. Don't like any of the boy names.

Roman and Iris by miles. Like Martha too. Don’t like the others.

Amos and Martha

All the Romans I've met are chavvy. I know we're not supposed to say that on Mumsnet . I'm not keen on Asia as a name or Eleska. What about Elektra instead?

Roman just makes me think of Roman Polanski (aka paedophile)

Hux is awful. Sounds a bit like hoax, which isn’t exactly a positive connotation. I reckon the only way you could get away with it would be if it was short for Huxley. I still don’t like it though.

Josef. That spelling just makes me think Stalin. People would spell/pronounce it wrong his entire life. If he’s going to grow up in the UK just call him Joseph.

For girls, I like Hettie, Iris and Martha.

I think Hettie should be short for Henrietta though.

Boys
Amos - kinda sweet actually
Hux - sounds like a sound. Huh.

Josef - always a good classic, joey or Joe for nn
Roman - just don't like it. Fine once you're 40 but I can't take to it

Girls
Asia - not hugely keen on place names.

Eleska - pooh pretty but probably a lifetime of being called Alaska
Hettie - sounds like a shortened version of something. Maybe Henrietta and then possibly shortened?
Iris - love
Martha - love

Roman and Iris are beautiful names.

I like Martha. Iris is ok. Josef also makes me think Stalin but I like it if spelt Joseph. Amos isn’t terrible but I wouldn’t go as far as to say I like it. The rest of your names are, ahem, not to my taste.

I think Hettie, Iris and Martha are really nice, especially Martha.

Iris is one of my all-time favourite girls names! Just lovely.

Amos, Iris and Martha. Hettie, only if shorter version of Harriet or Henrietta.

The rest all sound awful or try-hard, sorry.
