Do you like the name Grey?

Would you say it's more suited to a girl or a boy?

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

Only know one person with this name and they are transitioning. As a baby name, it's a little too non-gender-specific for my liking, but that's a personal choice of course.

AuntieStella · 13/09/2018 10:25

Definitely a boys name.

Graeme nn Grey /Gray wouid work

Sunflower321 · 13/09/2018 12:02

I know a Greyson nicknamed Grey.

Why can't colours be used as names? Lila, Scarlett, Indigo etc are all colours!

LeeMiller · 13/09/2018 13:55

I would assume a boy. Short for Greyson or Graham it's ok.

Grey is a somewhat depressing colour associated with dullness and drabness so to my mind it's different to Scarlett or Indigo which are bright and vivid.

BevBrook · 13/09/2018 13:59

What colour is Lila?
There is Violet as well of course.

Sunflower321 · 13/09/2018 14:08

Sorry Lila is lilac but in German Blush

BevBrook · 13/09/2018 14:16

Oh, I see! I should have thought of lilac since I was thinking about violet.

SuperLoudPoppingAction · 13/09/2018 14:19

I can't imagine calling a middle aged adult Grey.
Graham with Grey as a nickname maybe

Grreat · 13/09/2018 16:14

I really like Grey for a boy
I'd probably assume that it was short for Graham as I know a couple of Grahams who use Gray

moleeye · 13/09/2018 16:17

Love it!

Spelt Grayson though. Currently top fave for #2 although don't know the sex yet Smile
