I was convinced we were having a girl (remember the ‘Honey’ thread!)? Anyway baby arrived and it’s a boy! We have narrowed down a few names, hubby wants something ‘normal’ whereas I would prefer him not to share a name with multiple other boys at school.

Austin
Jaxon
Arlo
Hunter
Buddy
Noah

Of the above I really like Noah and Austin and Arlo are ok.

finallychangedmyusername · 31/08/2018 12:27

Congratulations by the way!

Rosley · 31/08/2018 12:28

Favourites from your list are Noah and Austin.

ivenoideawhatimdoing · 31/08/2018 12:32

Austin!

Such a lovely but underused name, I like Noah to but it’s far too popular for me.

Congratulations on your little boy!

userabcname · 31/08/2018 12:33

I like Arlo, Austin and Noah from your list but I think Noah is very popular so that may put you off.

Katjolo · 31/08/2018 12:37

Noah and Austin

ProseccoPoppy · 31/08/2018 12:37

Not Jaxon (looks like a typo and don’t like the sound) and I wouldn’t go for Buddy or Hunter either. The others are fine.

How about Jason? I don’t know any little Jasons so think it is relatively unusal at the mo while still being a name that isn’t too out there.

ProseccoPoppy · 31/08/2018 12:38

And congratulations!! Flowers

GimbleInTheWabe · 31/08/2018 12:40

I liked similar names to you and DP and I chose Dexter for our son. We love it! People can spell it and pronounce it but it was #80 or something on the list of most popular names so not common. We haven't met another one so far!
Congrats btw!

Flamingosnbears · 31/08/2018 12:40

How about Austin Buddy?... I think that's a lovely combination of your names and Austin isn't that popular.

Icklepup · 31/08/2018 12:47

Arlo

17caterpillars1mouse · 31/08/2018 12:47

Congratulations on your new baby boy

My opinions

Austin - it's a nice name, though I prefer the spelling Austen in a bid to Jane
Jaxon - please spell it Jackson. It's an ok name. I prefer just Jack
Arlo - nice enough but there are a few in my area under 2
Hunter - too surnamey for me
Buddy - great as a nn but needs a full name. Also makes me think of Buddy the Elf
Noah - lovely and my favourite of your suggestions but also the most popular

BlueSky198080 · 31/08/2018 13:39

Jaxon and Noah are like the old Mark and Richard around here, too popular

I love Hunter, and only know one!

Maireadd · 31/08/2018 13:49

Arlo, Austin or Noah.

How about Sonny, since you liked Honey?

deptfordgirl · 31/08/2018 13:57

Noah

AnyaMoondial · 31/08/2018 14:09

Austin!

Congratulations!

TroubledLichen · 31/08/2018 14:12

Noah is my favourite but probably not the best pick if you don’t want him to be one of many. So I’d go with Austin.

TheMythicalChicken · 31/08/2018 14:13

Love Austin! It was my godfather's name and he was such a character.

GreatDuckCookery6211 · 31/08/2018 14:21

Noah is ok but don't love it. Sorry don't like any of the others.

Please don't call him Jaxon. Jackson if you must.

wonderstar1216 · 31/08/2018 14:37

Noah is beauts!

Arlo is the name of the dinosaur in the good dinosaur.

MrsReader · 31/08/2018 14:41

Austin or Noah. Congratulations ❤️

3stonedown · 31/08/2018 14:46

All of your names are quite popular in my area, although I don't know of any Hunter's, so if it's originality you want that is the one I would go for.

Although I prefer Austin or Noah.

IggyAce · 31/08/2018 14:50

Austin or Arlo from your list.

Felton · 31/08/2018 14:55

Austin - ok
Jaxon - very chavvy spelling. If you have to use it, spell it Jackson. Jack/Jacob are far nicer though.
Arlo - ok
Hunter - very American
Buddy - awful. You're naming a person, not a child. Can you imagine a solicitor or police officer called Buddy? You would be limiting your child by giving them this ridiculous name.
Noah - lovely

IsTheRainEverComingBack · 31/08/2018 15:05

Austin or Arlo.

Don’t use something like Buddy, what if he wants a professional job one day?
