@AnEPleaseBob - careful, there is a very strong link between Scotland and France (especially in the Northern Isles). Stuart, Bruce, Sinclair (St Claire, the earls of Orkney) and others all originate from Normans given lands in Scotland. One reason Louis (often pronounced Lewis in Scotland) has always been popular, including in my Shetland family in 18th century.

I’m not a fan of Dupre because it sounds like a surname that doesn’t work as a first name, and because to be pronounced properly it should be Dupré.

I know that but it doesn't change my point, its a French surname. And a terrible one for a first name!
