Final decision on triplet names please?

Hello,

It's our final decision (maybe?) on our triplet boy names,
please help me decide which ones you like the best. Suggestions or thoughts are very appreciated. Opinions are gladly received. Our final list is;

Alexander, Edmund and Theodore
Augustus, Edmund and Theodore
Augustus, Alexander and Theodore
Stephen, Edmund and Theodore
or Stephen, Alexander/Augustus and Theodore

We keep struggling with these names indeed, so please help. I would like to know your opinions and thoughts. Which ones are nicer? I'm very open to any suggestions and ideas. You can give us your honest views please. (We don't choose Edward instead of Edmund because we have Edward in our social circle. Also Augustus, but I somehow still can't drop off this name.)

Feel free to choose or suggest.
Thank you so much!

Alexander, Edmund and Theodore.

I love Augustus but think Alexander goes better with the other two.

crl200 · 15/08/2018 16:34

I know an Edmund and a Theo and they both got given the nickname Teddy at school just be careful as they may seem different but we as kids came to that nickname so I’m sure some people will x

AnyaMoondial · 15/08/2018 17:07

Stephen, Alexander and Theodore! Great names. Congratulations op!

Pudding01 · 15/08/2018 19:39

Alexander, Edmund & Theodore!
Cool nicknames as Alex/Xander, Ed/Eddie & Theo 👌

Only think I would change is Edward, instead of Edmund, as it's just a bit nicer.

Congratulations on the triplets 💖

Alexander, Edmund and Theodore. Lovely names (although my personal preference would be for Edward over Edmund). Also best to have different initials if possible otherwise you’ll have them all opening each other’s post when they’re older as my Dad and brothers often do!

Yika · 15/08/2018 20:36

I like Stephen, Alexander, Edmund.

What about Gustav?

badg3r · 15/08/2018 20:40

Augustus Alexander Theodore
Gus Alex Theo

Triplets, congrats!!!

Picknickers · 15/08/2018 22:38

I really dislike Edmund but love Edwin.
From your names I'd go with Stephen Theodore and Alexander. Steve Theo and Alex. Lovely!

Holymolynowayimagreeingwiththa · 15/08/2018 22:45

I dislike all of those names. I think they are too frumpy.

buttercup54321 · 16/08/2018 00:43

Edison rather than Edmund, nn can still be Eddie,
Theodore
Alexander or Angus.

so Alex Theo and Eddie or Gus Theo and Eddie

catsofa · 16/08/2018 01:02

Alexander, Edmund and Theodore

Rebecca36 · 16/08/2018 02:00

Theodore would likely be called 'Dora' at school. Theo is nice.
Alexander and Edmund are fine but I prefer Edward. Stephen is a good, sound, timeless name.

deptfordgirl · 16/08/2018 02:53

Why would Theodore be called Dora at school? All the Theodores I know are called Theo or Teddy.

PalePinkSwan · 16/08/2018 07:35

I know five Theo’s off the top of my head and have never heard any of them called Dora.

superking · 16/08/2018 07:41

Alexander, Edmund, Theodore is nice.

I'm a bit surprised that only one pp has referenced the Chipmunks! Alvin, Simon, Theodore came into my head straight away on reading your list... Not that I think you will have this problem in real life, but maybe dont always put Theodore last when you introduce them!

BretonStripe · 16/08/2018 07:50

Will they be having middle names OP? Maybe use Stephen and Augustus as middle names?

Alexander Stephen
Edmund Augustus
Theodore Stephen

Good luck!

MeyMary · 16/08/2018 08:38

Alexander Stephen
Edmund Augustus
Theodore Anthony?

pipilangstrumpf · 16/08/2018 09:22

But middle names almost never get used. I don't even have a middle name.

Downeyhouse · 16/08/2018 09:23

My fave is
Augustus Alexander and Theodore

Can just picture 3 teen boys known as
Gus, Alex and Theo

Sugarpiehoneyeye · 16/08/2018 12:37

Alexander, Edmund, Theodore.

TheNewbieStep · 16/08/2018 12:41

Yep, Alex, Ed and Theo - lovely x

moredoll · 17/08/2018 02:25

I prefer Alexander, Edmund and Stephen. Don't like Theodore much.

finallychangedmyusername · 17/08/2018 08:54

All your names are lovely but in the case of triplets I'd be keen that all the names 'matched' in the sense of popularity and style.
It seems to me that Stephen is due a comeback. Would you consider Andrew as opposed to Augustus or Alexander?
I'd also avoid Theodore as a first name due to the chipmunk connection (I'm sure a triplet Theodore would always be asked whether his brothers are named Alvin and Simon). It would bother me greatly to have two matching initials (particularly as I often refer to my kids by their initials when texting etc).

I'd suggest:

Stephen
Andrew
Edwin

The more austere and longer names would sound great in the middle.

Stephen Augustus
Andrew Theodore
Edwin Alexander

Congratulations on your triplets!

pouraglasshalffull · 17/08/2018 13:17

Alexander, Edmund and Theodore

Alex, Ed (Eddie) and Theo

I personally really don't like the name Augustus it reminds me of Augustus Gloop from Charlie + The Chocolate Factory too much. Stephen also reminds me of a lot of middle aged men, don't think it would suit a baby at all

pipilangstrumpf · 17/08/2018 14:17

"Stephen also reminds me of a lot of middle aged men, don't think it would suit a baby at all"

You know they were once babies too Wink
