Girls names, ugh. HELP! Avery?

Alright so i’ve had my boys names picked out for years. But, turns out i’m having a girl. I am having the hardest time picking a name, because I hate most girls names. Right now, I think i’ve almost completely decided on Avery but do you guys think that’s an okay girls name? Also, for middle names I’m either gonna do Lyanna or cecilia. But, i’m considering doing both. i have two middle names and its never made anything difficult at all. So, what do you think of Avery Lyanna Cecilia? Or one or the other? Or just Avery? Thanks so much!

Avery......the first thing that came to mind was...... Avery, the commercial weighing scales manufacturer.

Sorry but I don't like it.

Icklepup · 14/08/2018 03:11

Makes me think of Steven Avery and I don't like it.

IAmInsignificunt · 14/08/2018 03:13

It makes me think of a bird aviary every single time I hear it.

Cecilia is beautiful.

Zoflorabore · 14/08/2018 03:29

Love it :)

Dd is 7 and one of her baby alive dolls is called Avery. Someone commented on the doll recently and asked her name and thought it was amazing. Dd was very pleased with herself. Go for it!

You won't have the issue of 4 in a class at school with the same name.
Loads of girls in ds's school are called Mia/Ava/Olivia/Ella etc and it's nice to be different.

Avery Jessop was a great female character in 30 Rock.
I quite like it Smile

Novia · 14/08/2018 03:51

Avery is a boys name in Nashville... and somewhere you keep birds! 😂

Awwlookatmybabyspider · 14/08/2018 04:03

I love it for a girl. I can't stand it for a boy.
It's far too pretty and feminine.
Avery Cecelia is gorgeous.

Awwlookatmybabyspider · 14/08/2018 04:09

Nitty Nora the head Explorer.Grin
Sorry op I really don't like it. Plus it's not really fair to use it if your dh doesn't like it.
You've both got to be on board.
Bonnie is okay ,though

I know 4 female teens/early 20s called Avery, name chosen by American women now around 53/55.

AnyaMoondial · 14/08/2018 06:57

I LOVE Cecelia, it always sounds powerful to me.

AuntieStella · 14/08/2018 07:00

Avery is a (male) Death Eater

Cecilia is a lovely name

TamiTayorismyparentingguru · 14/08/2018 07:19

I know both male and female Averys from Texas. I prefer it on the girls. All the girls I know also have quite feminine middle names (Names like Rose, Charlotte, Grace) - not sure if it was deliberate on their parents’ parts or not, but with a gender neutral name it probably helps.

I like Avery Cecilia. Any more names and I think it’s probably too many syllables.

Spam88 · 14/08/2018 07:27

I always assumed it was a boys name. And, yes, death eaters.

redfairy · 14/08/2018 07:30

Avery reminds me of office labels. Cecelia is pretty. Would it be shortened to Cece? That reminds me of the film Beaches.

averylongtimeago · 14/08/2018 07:35

Avery? Hmmm
I keep suggesting Zilpha, it's really unusual, I think it's a lovely name.

AtticaRose · 14/08/2018 08:13

I quite like it. And she could use Ava as a lovely nn / alternative if she wanted to later.

I would go for Avery Cecelia.

Peachbubble · 14/08/2018 08:15

I like it

blinkineckmum · 14/08/2018 08:34

Makes me think of bird poo.

Heratnumber7 · 14/08/2018 08:41

Avery Lyanna Cecilia is a bit of a mouthful.

The only name out of those three I'd even contemplate is Cecilia, and I'm not mad on that, sorry OP.

Avery scales is all I can think of.

Quangot · 14/08/2018 08:48

Avery makes me think of office stationery.

I love Cecilia though.

QueenOfMyWorld · 14/08/2018 08:48

Cecilia ia a bit of a mouthful.Celia?

Goostacean · 14/08/2018 10:33

I’ve only ever known Avery as a surname... Never heard Lyanna before - is it Lie-anna or Lee-anna? Agree with pp that Cecilia is beautiful, would you consider using that as the first name?

piggie88 · 14/08/2018 11:17

I really like Avery but my dh doesn’t like it. I agree, Avery Cecilia is lovely.

TatianaLarina · 14/08/2018 14:34

Will always be Avery labels to me. It’s very meh.

Ava, despite its heinous popularity, is miles better.

I much prefer Cecilia as a first name.

Cecilia Ava is lovely.
