Girls names, ugh. HELP! Avery?

Alright so i’ve had my boys names picked out for years. But, turns out i’m having a girl. I am having the hardest time picking a name, because I hate most girls names. Right now, I think i’ve almost completely decided on Avery but do you guys think that’s an okay girls name? Also, for middle names I’m either gonna do Lyanna or cecilia. But, i’m considering doing both. i have two middle names and its never made anything difficult at all. So, what do you think of Avery Lyanna Cecilia? Or one or the other? Or just Avery? Thanks so much!

Avery makes me think of Bella Thorne, it's her middle name (Annabella Avery Thorne)
I like Cecilia, I have an aunt with that name.
Not keen on Lyanna though.

Fine to have two middle names, I have two myself.

Cucumbum · 14/08/2018 16:14

Avery is very pretty, we're also considering it for our DD.

Heartland3 · 14/08/2018 16:29

What about Autumn? I've always loved this name for a girl Smile

Flamingosnbears · 14/08/2018 16:36

Avery makes me think of a bird aviary also... However its your choice and if you love the name go for it.

Cecilia is the best out your middle names.

Flamingosnbears · 14/08/2018 16:47

Avianna?...

DC2018 · 14/08/2018 17:58

I really like Avery. I think it's a cool unisex name with great nn potentials. My vote is Avery Cecilia x

Talith · 14/08/2018 18:02

Avery make labels for printers don't they? I don't like it as a name but it's not awful...

I think Cecilia is beautiful - Cecilia Lianna would be my pick of your names. Although not sure what it would be (inevitably) shortened to - Cecy perhaps - ooo that's a brilliant character in What Katy Did!

AnElderlyLadyOfMediumHeight · 14/08/2018 18:05

Call her Cecilia. Lovely name, and the patron saint of music, IIRC.

Avery's awful. She'll hate it. Sorry.

firsttime17 · 14/08/2018 18:07

Awrh I love Avery for a girl, so sweet x

daisypond · 14/08/2018 18:57

Avery is a solid boy's name to me - as in the brother in Charlotte's Web.
It doesn't remind me of aviary or birds at all - it's pronounced differently. Cecilia is the nicest of your suggestions. How would you say Lyanna? Like Lie-anna?

MikeUniformMike · 14/08/2018 19:44

I associate it with Avery scales or Avery labels. It's awful as a girl's name.

Maria1299 · 14/08/2018 21:29

Its lee-anna. and while i do like cecilia a lot its just not a first name for me.

Also Avery is a unisex name for me but I’ve always thought it sounded too feminine as a boys name. I’ve never heard of Avery labels so that connection doesn’t bother me. I’ve never met anyone with Avery as their surname.

Sessy19 · 14/08/2018 21:42

I like Avery.

I don’t know about labels or scales or whatever...but my name is also used commercially and I don’t believe anyone has ever said as much to my face or to my mother that I resemble said product...I’m sure your daughter will be fine! 😂

I like Lyanna, and I like the spelling.

Not a fan of Cecilia. But I knew one once and she was the single most boring individual I ever had to talk to. So that’s shaped the association for me.

What boys name did you line up? I like you girl names, so I’ll probably like your boy names...and I find boys to tough! Help a gal out?? 😁😬

ladycarlotta · 14/08/2018 21:42

I see it divides opinion, but here's another vote in favour of Avery. I think it's a lovely name.

supadupapupascupa · 14/08/2018 21:44

Avert is my dh middle name. Apparently it used to be a family surname, which was hyphenated then dropped. It is now my sons middle name. I love it

supadupapupascupa · 14/08/2018 21:45

Avery not avert!!!

supadupapupascupa · 14/08/2018 21:46

Oh and I’ve spent many an hour with a very large Avery floor scale Grin still it doesn’t bother me

Strawberry2017 · 14/08/2018 21:47

I ❤️ it, I wanted it for my daughter but DH wasn't keen. X

DramaAlpaca · 14/08/2018 21:48

I don't like it at all. It reminds me of aviaries and sticky labels.

Picknickers · 14/08/2018 22:32

I like it. There's always going to be a random connection to something and scales and bird houses aren't obnoxious. How ridiculous to say she'll hate it! How does the pp know?!

buckingfrolicks · 14/08/2018 22:40

Charlottes Webb. Lovely name.

buckingfrolicks · 14/08/2018 22:46

There an Avery in Charlottes Webb. Lovely name.

Maria1299 · 15/08/2018 06:38

Thanks to everyone for the opinions it’s been so much help!!

My boys names are Alecai Michael and Adrian Damien.
I know someone is going to say Adrian is a girls name but it’s always been a boys name to me and I love it.

Love your boy’s names! Remain unconvinced by Avery, personally- what have you decided based on all the comments? 😊
