Boy names for triplets please?

Hello,

I'm looking for boy triplets names or ideas, and I'm very open to suggestions because I really have no idea, I'm overwhelmed with the idea of naming three boys. Anyway my DH like name Stephen, and he would like the others two have the same first letter even if there isn't too many names start with S so far. For me I still don't have the name I particularly like, so any names or ideas please?

They don't necessary to have alliteration, or be matchy or vice versa, just would like to know your idea like if you were having triplet boys, what would you name them. And I also don't have any specific ideas, so please help. Very open here.

Any thoughts are appreciated. Thank you!

Personally I wouldn't worry about the letter thing or getting confused with all having the same initials. There were 3 x J's in our household and it was never a problem.

Who gets letters these days anyway!

MarklesMerkin · 11/08/2018 09:55

How about William, Benjamin and Robert?

Then their nicknames could be Bill, Ben and Bob but they still retain their own official initial! Grin

auntyflonono · 11/08/2018 09:56

Laurence, Matthew and William

thatmustbenigelwiththebrie · 11/08/2018 09:59

Alvin, Simon, Theodore?

LucyFox · 11/08/2018 10:18

No to the matching initial!
Stephen, Matthew, Nicholas
Stephen, Timothy, Christopher
Stephen, Anthony, Edward

MikeUniformMike · 11/08/2018 12:27

I might not get any letters these days but apart from junk mail, the stuff that comes through the post is either parcels or confidential stuff.

ButterflyOfFreedom · 11/08/2018 12:53

My triplet boys would be Nathan, Leon & Dylan.

I wouldn't go for 3 names with the same letter.

Stephen, Christian & Anthony

All are very nice ideas. Thank you for wonderful ideas and suggestions, it helps me a lot indeed. They are perfectly lovely names. I’m not keen on my DH’s ideas about naming them with the same letter too, but he said Stephen, Simon and Samuel or maybe Sebastian sound good. Anyway I come up with some ideas because of your helps, what about naming them Stephen, Augustus and Theodore

Actually one doesn’t have to be Stephen, how about Augustus, Alexander and Theodore.

Or Augustus, Christopher and Theodore, or Stephen, Edmund and Theodore.
Maybe Augustus, Edmund and Theodore.
Or Augustus, Theodore and I don’t know...

What do you think? I’m worried that maybe they’re somehow too posh or too pretentious (not offend anyone) especially when they’re together, do they sound strange? I also think maybe classic tradition names would be safer, but I haven’t make decision yet. (One of my friend suggested name Zephyr... which sounds nice, but I don’t know?)

I’m still open to more names and more suggestions, no matter they’re long names or short ones, tradition or not. Please feel free to share your opinion. Thank you so much for your kind supports!

Augustus - Gus
Theodore - Theo
Edward - Ed

pipilangstrumpf · 11/08/2018 16:11

Stephen
Quentin
Edmund

I definitely wouldn't give them the same initials.

auntyflonono · 11/08/2018 18:56

Alexander
Theodore
Edmund

Alex, Theo and Ed

Lovely :) You have great taste OP!

BackforGood · 11/08/2018 19:20

MarthaMe - aside from the post though, with 3 boys growing up together, you are going to have lots of possessions that are similar sizes and stages of development..... all the school uniform items, sportswear, maybe cub uniforms, football boots swimming trunks, towels, goggles, swim bags, wellies, water bottles lunch boxes, etc etc etc etc etc. To be able to quickly mark with an initial is going to make life a LOT easier for everyone.

Elmersnewfriend · 11/08/2018 19:28

@Backforgood - so true - I have three children who aren't triplets, and keeping track of all their gear is bad enough! If you DO decide to do that OP, def give them middle names all with a different initial or else it would be carnage!
Good luck OP, how exciting!

andadietcoke · 11/08/2018 19:36

I have DTs - don't give them the same first initial. Post from banks, GPs etc is all first initial only. Add in that they have the same birth date and are the same sex and it makes for a nightmare. Our GP's check in screens can't cope with it when they have appointments on the same day.

foxyliz26 · 11/08/2018 19:38

How about
Curley, Larry and Moe ?

ragged · 11/08/2018 19:40

We nearly used Stephen. I don't like OP's other choices, though, isn't it funny how you never can tell what taste one has from just one name.

Xanadu46 · 11/08/2018 19:41

Joel, Samuel and Niall.

ifigoup · 11/08/2018 19:43

Stephen, Luke and Dominic
Stephen, William and Davies
Stephen, Matthew and Peter

ihoppancake · 11/08/2018 22:42

Congratulations on your triplets Smile

My brothers are Stephen, Alexander and James - thought I'd mention as you've already considered Stephen and Alexander.

Or Stevie, Jay and Alex/Al once they started school much to my parent's dismay WinkGrin

Bristolgal · 12/08/2018 07:30

I like your idea of Augustus, Theodore and Christopher/Edmund. It doesnt sound pretentious as i imagine they'll be shortened to Gus, Theo/Teddy and Ed. Would you be happy with that?
I'm not keen on Zephyr though!!

Other names...
William
Hamish
Owen
Ralph
Rafe
Liam
Matthew
Sebastian
Thomas
Joshua
Samson
Jarrod

If it were me, I'd probably choose something like Christopher, Matthew and Samuel. Or Sebastian, Hamish and William.

Good luck!

flumpybear · 12/08/2018 07:54

Yes consider the nicknames too!
I'd drop the 'S' idea too as they'll never gain independence either
Cameron
Sebastian
Nathaniel
Augustus reminds me of Augustus gloop from Charlie and the chocolate factory I'm afraid

Gabriel
Alexander is lovely
Harrison
Hunter
Alistair

They remind me of quite well to do names but not tooooooo OTT like Tarquinius or something Wink

chickenchip · 12/08/2018 08:39

We just picked 3 names we liked. First did a list each and then ticked off the ones we both liked till we agreed. You may want second names too!!

A friend of mine recently thought she was having 2 x boys and a girl and she had 3 x boys! Grin the scan was wrong!!

Congratulations Triplets are wonderful

bridgetreilly · 12/08/2018 09:28

Stephen, Simon, Seth
Stephen, Sebastian, Samuel
Stephen, Saul, Solomon
Stephen, Simeon, Sidney

bridgetreilly · 12/08/2018 09:29

And if you give them all the same initial, they can share and that's even easier for everyone! Seriously.

MrsMrsMrsMrs · 12/08/2018 09:33

Stephen, William (Billy/Will) and Alexander (Xander)
Stephen, Edward (Ted) and Charles (Charlie)
Stephen, Freddie and James
