Hi,

I am due a little girl soon and so stuck for names. We have a little girl already called Soraya (Raya or Rae for short) love names that are longer but can be shortened and that are really unusual. Love the name Fifi but it’s too short and DH hates Phonenix and Sophia / Fiona are too popular for my liking. Please help as completely stuck. Thanks in advance x

I really like the name Ganawaya. It is so unique and rhymes with your other daughter's name. How perfect!! Please do give it some thought as it is such a beautiful name.

Sugarpiehoneyeye · 28/07/2018 22:25

Apolline (Polly).
Finola (FiFi).

ErrantBakedBean · 28/07/2018 23:15

Adelfia is apparently from Old Greek, meaning sister - could get Fifi from that?
Amalfi maybe ... If you like Italy?!
Philomena
Seraphina

Or, more standard: Felicity, Josephine

AndNoneForGretchenWieners · 28/07/2018 23:21

I have a 10 week old baby girl who we almost called Soraya! But I didn't like the So-rye-ah pronunciation so it's now her regularly used middle name! We often call her (firstname)-Raya. And Soraya Sunshine.

Our other name we almost called her was Kaimana with Kaia for short. Kaia is the name were using next if we ever have another little girl 😊

Cosmoa · 29/07/2018 04:55

Also considered Pandora with Panda or Nora for short. (didn't like Nora/Dora myself much)

I also loved Cleo with Cleora as a longer option.

And I liked...

Cataleya
Zendaya... Basically loads of names ending in a very similar way to Soraya ❤😂

But she ended up with a very rare short unique name (not on any charts) which we (and everyone who hears it) love 😊
