Cecilia, Jemima or Willow?

Thoughts on Cecilia, Jemima or Willow for dd2?

We have a very short one syllable masculine sounding surname so I can afford to go with something “frilly” to balance it out!

Cecilia was our choice if we ever had a girl after the patron Saint of music.

NonaGrey · 24/07/2018 18:26

Cecilia. Gorgeous name.

Frogletmamma · 24/07/2018 18:27

I like Willow but I am biased as I know a lovely Willow

Srilli · 24/07/2018 18:27

Jemima! I know people will say puddleduck but I just think it’s so pretty and lots of cute potential nn’s- Jem, Jemmi, Mimi

Dljlr · 24/07/2018 18:27

Jemima is a puddle duck. Willow is gorgeous, but only if you're sure she won't be small and plump as an adult. Cecilia is v. beautiful.

Frankwindsor · 24/07/2018 18:29

Jemima is sweet. I personally don't like the other 2 names.

AudreyBillingham · 24/07/2018 18:31

Willow is very cool (especially if you're a Buffy fan) and I really like the NN Jem for Jemima. Cecilia is nice if you like that sort of name but I see it as a bit "prissy" and really don't like the nn "CeCe" - too cutesy for me.

daisypond · 24/07/2018 18:33

Cecilia.

TroubledLichen · 24/07/2018 18:34

Cecila

AuntieStella · 24/07/2018 18:36

I love the name Jemima

CaseFace30 · 24/07/2018 18:38

Cecilia is lovely. I loved the name Celine if I had a girl.

finallychangedmyusername · 24/07/2018 18:39

I adore Jemima, also like Cecilia but find Willow too airy and insubstantial I'm afraid.

GreatDuckCookery6211 · 24/07/2018 18:55

I prefer Cecily to Cecelia.

Jemima

I am biased though as we have a Jemima. We call her Mima or Puddleduck.

We hadn't met another Jemima until a couple of weeks ago. But it seems to have been getting a few mentions on here over the last couple
Of months, so maybe it will get more popular?

I also think Willow is lovely.

Congratulations!!

Jemima. Not keen on Willow as I know a couple of dogs called it. Cecilia just makes me think of the song.

AnyaMoondial · 24/07/2018 19:13

Cecelia

LorelaiVictoriaGilmore · 24/07/2018 19:14

Jemima. Love Jem as a nn.

pennycarbonara · 24/07/2018 19:17

Cecelia

TatianaLarina · 24/07/2018 20:07

Cecilia

lecossaise · 24/07/2018 20:09

Cecilia as long as you like the song.

bridgetreilly · 24/07/2018 20:22

In order, I like:
Cecilia
Jemima

Willow

chronicallyawesome · 24/07/2018 20:25

Love Cecilia - the others are ok but I would have this on my shortlist. Congratulations Flowers

lljkk · 24/07/2018 20:46

I am not a fan of Jemimah, the others are both nice.

fannyanddick · 24/07/2018 20:50

I find willow although elegant and beautiful, a bit wishy washy, slow moving. So good for a family of painters, philosophers and dancers but not so ideal for a family of sports women, top lawyers etc. That is a bit odd I'm sure, but my personal view.

I like the other two names and I think that they are more versatile. I also like the nn's cici and mimi.

afrikat · 24/07/2018 20:53

Willow!
