Our little Willa is going to be a big sister at the end of the year! We just can't think of a fitting name to suit hers.....

Only names started on the list are-
Augustina, nn Augie
Alexandrina, nn Lexi
Clementine, nn Clem? Clemmy?
Robina, nn Bobby
Theodora, Teddy?

Nothing really standing out!?!? Did we just make it too hard? (A boy might have been Montgomery or Huckabee:-(

I met a little girl called Maxima the other day which I thought was quite a cute name. I like Theodora best from your list.

I like Theodora a lot.

This is going to sound weird but. I love
Augustina. Alexandra rather than Alexandrina. Robyn rather than Robina.
However I only like like them in their entirety. Augustina especially is far to beautiful to be for a nn, IMO
OTOH. İ love Clemmie but can't stand Clementine.
Nothing positive to say about Theodora, sorry.
Some ideas.

Willa and Maude

I wouldn't go for two names ending in 'ina' - it's a bit much.

Plus, Augusta and Alexandra are already lovely long names, which don't need that extra bit. It sounds a bit silly with the 'ina' in my opinion.

Similarly, I wouldn't use Robina, but I like Roberta.

Theodora is ok, I quite like the nickname Thea.

Clementine I quite like, but I don't think it goes with Wilhelmina, and I hate the nickname Clemmie (it sounds too like clammy to me).

Penelope nn Nell
Dorothea nn Dot or Thea

Georgina? Or is that very unfashionable these days?

We used to joke that our daughter would have to be named Wilhelmina Roberta Georgina (we'd decided on William Robert George for a boy - this was before you could tell the sex from the scan) in the end we had a girl - Georgina Louise - and she's Georgie for short.

Albertine is pretty awesome - she could be Bertie or Albie or Tina

ZebraKid71 · 19/07/2018 10:26

I don't mind Theodore, although Teddy is very popular in my area so I'd avoid that nn. I like Clementine but not Clemmie.

I really don't like the others on your list, as pp suggest what about Augusta, Robyn or Alexandra? The - ina ending will sound to rhymey with wilhelmina.

I think Frederica or Harriet go well.

MikeUniformMike · 19/07/2018 10:36

Augustina, nn Augie - NO. Gussie would be the obvious nn and it sounds to much like Gusset. Prefer Augusta.
Alexandrina, nn Lexi - Not keen on Lexi. Sasha would be better
Clementine, nn Clem? Clemmy? - too orangey
Robina, nn Bobby - Ruby?
Theodora, Teddy? - Yes but she'll be one of many Theodoras and Teddys

How about Benedetta - Benni?

MikeUniformMike · 19/07/2018 10:39

I prefer Alexandra too. Wilhelmina and Somethingina are too similar and suggests you are trying too hard.
Augie is awful.
How about Henrietta nn Hetty?
