Baby girl name decision

Hi there,

My partner and I can't decide between 2 names for our baby girl. Can you please give us your opinion to help us make the decision.

We are also not sure about the spelling, which one do you prefer and why?

Kalina / Kalyna
Kalicia / Kalycia

Kalina sounds nice and would probably be misspelled less than Kalyna

So, I suppose, I prefer Kalicia, although it sounds like the Spanish region of Galicia misspelled.

And I would avoid Ys in the place of 'I's because it looks like you're trying to invent a yooniq name/spelling.

Kalina, but she will forever be spelling it out to people who think it’s Karina!
Kalicia will never be spelled or pronounced correctly! (Kal-iss-ee-a? Kal-eesha? - In which case spelling it Kalisha would be easier for everyone)

Awwlookatmybabyspider : We came hear because we loved Kalina but my partner sister said it sounds like "Cleaner" so we wanted to check if most people notice it.

Do you guys think it really sounds like cleaner? :(

Kalina sounds a bit like Cleaner.
Kalicia sounds like one of the Kardashians - you wanted Alicia but needed it to start with a K.

They're both awful I'm afraid.

Kalina sounds like cleaner, and Kalicia sounds made up and stupid.

There are plenty of nice names out there - there's no need to saddle your child with a yooniq, Kardashian-esque, very chavvy name.

Kalina isn't 'yooniq' or chavvy. It is a known girls name meaning 'flower' and also has aboriginal origins.

I know of at least one person called Calina, I never thought it sounded like cleaner. I would just be sure to pronounce the first a clearly, more car-lina.

I don't like Kalicia though. Agree with PP, it would be confused with kal-ee-sia, kal-ee-sha.
