What do you think of Olivette?

I read that it's the French version of Olivia and was also a name used to Shakespeare's Twelfth Night

There's no Olivette in Twelfth Night - the character is called Olivia.

And, speaking as a half-French person who has a lot of French family and has spent loads of time in France, I have never heard of the name Olivette.

Olivia is far nicer than Olivette, which sounds like some brand of feminine hygiene products or margarine.

Reminds me of the choral music "Olivet to Calvary" about the end of Jesus' life.

Sounds a bit try-hard and pretentious. Olivia and Olive are pretty popular. Olivette sounds like you are trying to find an alternative to those names, but it just sounds like a brand of something tbh. Go with Olivia or something instead.

I will say though, as a positive to this name - Evie/Yvette are cool nicknames you can get from Olivette.

I read it as ovitrelle! Which is the trigger injection they use for ivf 😭

Stick with Olive.

I agree with the typewriter theme.

I will also admit here and now that I have genuinely, at age 40-something, only just got the joke of Olive Oyl's name Blush

Spread for me. Would probably be found alongside Ottilie in supermarkets!

First thing I thought was salad dressing 😕
