What do you think of Olivette?

I read that it's the French version of Olivia and was also a name used to Shakespeare's Twelfth Night

Sounds like a spreadable alternative to butter. Sorry but first thing I thought of.

MorrisDancingViv · 28/06/2018 20:36

I was going to say it sounds like a brand of hand tissues. Soz

First thing I thought of was Olivetti - a make of typewriter. Sorry -Cant see anything wrong with Olivia though.

SlimGin · 28/06/2018 20:39

Sorry but agree that sounds like spread. What about the name Olive? Or Odette? Ottilie?

MyKingdomForBrie · 28/06/2018 20:39

Sounds like a car!

Topseyt · 28/06/2018 20:40

I prefer Olivia.

When I was growing up (far too long ago) there was a brand of typewriter called Olivetti. It is too similar to that for my liking, though I do appreciate that saying that does date me rather.

Blackbirdblue30 · 28/06/2018 20:40

No what's wrong with you.

Notonthestairs · 28/06/2018 20:41

Typewriter. Sorry.

MikeUniformMike · 28/06/2018 20:41

Olivetti typewriter.
You could use Avery as a middle name or for a sibling to keep an office theme.

mosessupposes · 28/06/2018 20:42

I'm French. Never heard the name Olivette. It does sound like it could mean "little Olive" though. What it actually means is little field of olive trees.

MrsTorrence · 28/06/2018 20:42

No what's wrong with you.

Grin that made me chuckle

Teddy1970 · 28/06/2018 20:46

Sounds like Ovranette the contraceptive pill...

MrsGrindah · 28/06/2018 20:47

Sir Toby Belch is also a character in Twelfth Night.....

Faster · 28/06/2018 20:49

Sounds like a contraceptive pill to my ears.

Are you French?

Though even if you are assuming you're not im France it's a no from me

TatianaLarina · 28/06/2018 21:15

There’s no Olivette in Twelfth Night, there’s an Olivia though.

It sounds like a cross between Olivetti, Olivio the margarine, and a Tampax brand.

KerplunkChampion · 28/06/2018 21:21

I can't believe someone has said it sounds like spread but then suggested Ottilie!

RedDwarves · 29/06/2018 01:41

As someone else said, there is no Olivette in Twelfth Night. There is an Olivia, though.

notangelinajolie · 29/06/2018 01:43

Just no. Low fat spread/contraceptive pill.
