How many Matthews?

Hey,

Just that really, how many Matthews do you know? And is it too boring? I think it's such a lovely name and we find it hard to agree on boys names (we have two dds).

Other names on my list:

Max
Sean
Simon
Michael
Owen

I adore Thomas/Tom but cant have it. I also can't have, but love, Joseph and Benjamin.

I have a Matthew. Born 2006

EekThreek · 26/06/2018 19:58

I LOVE the name Matthew. I always wanted to call my hypothetical son Matthew, then I went and bloody married one so I couldn't 🙄😂

I know a few adult ones and two aged 3, both born in the same month bizarrely, and no others! Use it, its a lovely name.

I only know one.He's 13. Lovely name.

user1485342611 · 26/06/2018 21:41

Sorry, he's 13, lovely name.

Mousefunky · 28/06/2018 11:23

It was popular when I was in school years ago but not so much now. I know one young Matthew and I teach a 20 year old Matthew.

deste · 28/06/2018 22:30

I have a Matthew, he is 40 and a friend has one and he is 41.

Bellaposy · 28/06/2018 22:31

I know one who is 2 same age as my DD. We go to lots of classes etc and it's the only Matthew I've come across under 15.

ballroompink · 29/06/2018 09:11

I don't know any Matthews who are currently children! I'm in my 30s and know a LOT of 30-something Matthews.

When I was a teenage I had crushes on two boys called Matthew and it was always what I wanted to call my son Grin I didn't though!

StrawberryCat · 29/06/2018 10:41

Thanks everyone! I think it's firmly on the top of the list. Along with Owen! Smile

My DS is Matthew, I love the name and he is the only little one I know of.

DorothyHarris · 31/08/2018 17:00

Sorry for resurrecting this, clearly can't use the new app 😑

Riddo · 16/10/2018 17:31

I know two, one is 18 and the other is 2. It's a lovely name 🙂

Riddo · 16/10/2018 17:33

Oops! Sorry, thought this was in active threads but it's in my watch list 😬

PurestGreen · 16/10/2018 17:37

I know a three year old one, a thirteen year old one, and three in their thirties! But it's a LOVELY name. I really like it.

Skyejuly · 16/10/2018 18:49

I have 1 that is a teenager. Dont know any younger ones.

foxtiger · 16/10/2018 21:40

I really like Matthew, and although it is not hugely popular for little boys right now, I don't think it sounds dated and I'd love to hear it more often! For what it's worth, I know one Matthew who must now be about 15, and one Mateusz, who's about 10, no younger ones.

physicskate · 17/10/2018 10:58

8 in my year (of about 60) but that was in the 90s.

TJsAunt · 17/10/2018 14:54

late to the party - but also have a Matthew now in Y10.

he was the only one in his whole primary school and has been the only one so far in his year at secondary school. (compared to several Olivers and georges)

I like it - might be more from my era but I've only ever know nice Matthews and it really suits him!
