How many Matthews?

Hey,

Just that really, how many Matthews do you know? And is it too boring? I think it's such a lovely name and we find it hard to agree on boys names (we have two dds).

Max
Sean
Simon
Michael
Owen

I adore Thomas/Tom but cant have it. I also can't have, but love, Joseph and Benjamin.

The youngest one I know is 17.

My cousin had a baby Matthew 2 months ago, and a colleague has a 3 year old. Lovely name.

None under 30, it’s the perfect name though! Also Nicholas is in the same vein I feel.

Love Matthew and Matt, know a few teenagers. I have name regret for Matthew!

A lot of people chose names that they think are quite rare, then all of a sudden there's a whole wave of them.

I know 7 who are 18/19

I had theee under eights in London and have never met a child Matthew at any of their activities or schools.

I know so many...there are 7 in dc’s year 3 year...+ multiple siblings in other years...

I don’t mind it but do find it boring...lots of Matt’s when was at school in the 80’s/90’s

My youngest is a Matthew. We know one other (distant) relative with the name. No one i know has ever mentioned the name. I think it's a lovely name. It suits all age ranges and there's a few different shortenings you can use.

I don't regret using it, it suits my cheeky boy!

I know of several between the ages of about 22-28 (essentially either friends or siblings of friends etc. )
Child Matthews? I don't know any. No one in any of ds's toddler groups have any of those names you suggested.
I've always liked Max. Simon is my least favourite and seems very 1970's/1980's.

I know quite a lot of 30/40 something Matthews, and can think of at least 2 teenage ones... but don't know any little ones. I think it's a lovely name, and I've liked all the ones I've met. Of your other choices, I like Owen best.

It was one of the most popular names for my age group but I only know about 3 children with the name; one’s about 14, one is 9 and one a bit younger.

I love it, I have a 2 year old Matthew. It's not faddy and will suit him when he's older.

I know one who is about 12 now. I am late 30s and there were quite a few in my year school at school. It's a nice name. I also like Max and Sean from your list.

I have a Matthew! He's 4 and I haven't come across any others yet. He's the only one in his year at school.
I still love his name just as much now as the day we chose it!

Lots in their 30s/40s and only 2 younger (22 and 9). I think it is a classic.

I dislike the letter combination in Michael but love Owen on your list.
