what do we think please? I know it's bit different but it would work in different countries/cultures which I'm keen on

I didn't think labia, but I did think you'd missed the first letter from Flavia - which is quite a pretty name Smile

user1483387154 · 05/06/2018 11:13

Livia is much nicer. Other name I read as labia. Sorry

Viola82 · 05/06/2018 11:31

Thank you very much ladies! Now I just need to convince my DH on Livia ;)

Change your name to Lavia and you could be Lavia majora and Lavia minora!

bixquert · 05/06/2018 12:23

Lavinia is nicer than them all imo

robotcartrainhat · 05/06/2018 12:25

Livia is lovely! Lavia did make me think of labia im sorry!!
How about Flavia?

Cosmoa · 05/06/2018 12:33

Oh how ridiculous!! As if kids will call her Labia!! And anyway who cares... There are like a million Williams who could get called willy and probably don't..

Mums net is ridiculous.

I think it's a lovely name.

greendale17 · 05/06/2018 12:37

I read it as lavatory

ChardonnaysPrettySister · 05/06/2018 12:38

Flavia is lovely.

Donotbequotingmeinbold · 05/06/2018 12:43

Instantly thought of labia so no!

LoislovesStewie · 05/06/2018 12:45

Very young kids might not call her Labia, but sure as hell there will be lovely teenagers who will. I don't like William for the same reason, being called Willy must get a bit much.

At least most kids know what a Willy is, but how many primary aged kids know what a labia is?!

Anyway, Livvie sounds like livid!

LoislovesStewie · 05/06/2018 14:52

I went to school with a boy whose surname was Titt, apologies if any of you have this surname, sadly he was teased mercilessly. Actually it wasn't that sad because he had a tendency to bully others. I suspect there is a moral somewhere. It has made me think more about names in general.

vampirethriller · 05/06/2018 14:59

Livia is nicer. Lavia does make me think of labia sorry!

TatianaLarina · 05/06/2018 16:22

Livia or Flavia

MrsCD67 · 05/06/2018 18:15

In Spanish it's pronounced as Labia and I think a lot of English people would make the joke too or at least do a double take upon hearing/reading it

With an uncommon name, you are more likely to make different associations as the name itself is just a word you've never seen before. William and even Willie are long established names, so I'm used to seeing them as names. I've never seen the name Lavia. My first thought is 'labia', my second 'lava', my third 'lavatory' and 'laver' (in French, so all sorts of washing associations) and my fourth is 'la via' in Italian, meaning 'the road'. I don't know whether to pronounce it 'Lay-via' like 'labia' or 'Lah-via' like 'bravo' or 'La via' like 'the road'.

HeyDolly · 05/06/2018 21:32

Livia is lovely.

HyenaHappy · 05/06/2018 21:37

I though labia too.

I think Livia looks like a bodged spelling of Olivia. Sorry OP but she’ll forever be saying to everyone “no, it’s Livia, not Olivia.”

Icklepickle101 · 05/06/2018 21:38

Flavia is lovely, Lavia is not

Growingboys · 05/06/2018 21:58

Labia

Bouncingbelle · 05/06/2018 23:20

I read this firstly as Latvia, then thought labia closely followed by lavatory. So it would be a no from me.

Livia is gorgeous!

YoucancallmeVal · 06/06/2018 00:41

Another labia I'm afraid!

Aus84 · 06/06/2018 00:44

What about Lavinia?
