Deakin and Avey for twin boys?

Me and my partner are in the process of adopting two twin boys who have not yet been born and are trying to come up with two unusual names for them. We have 2 children already, Dexter Julian Carter (DJ) who is 5 and Violet Noelle Tuesday (Vi)
We want the names to have meaning and we both love the band animal collective and were thinking of maybe called them Deakin and Avey after 2 of the band members.
The middles names would be Kody Vincent and James Tate.
Honest opinions? I feel like they're not too odd and have meaning but obviously are a little odd.

They are not to my taste, but they have meaning for you & are in keeping with your older DV's names. You will always have a mixed response on unusual names. Congratulations on your future arrivals

I misread Avey as Avery at first, might be something to be aware of. I like Kody and James, I'd make them the first names.

I do like Kody as a first name but not sure about James as there are quite a few in the family which is why it's a middle name.

I like Avey but really don't like Deakin. I love Tate, use it as a first name instead! Avey and Tate go well together.

Thank you! And obviously they are not gonna be to a lot of people's taste. You should have heard the rows my mother in law had with me over Dexter, haha. I always found once you introduce a child, it becomes their name even if it is weird.

Actually they really do go nice together. Maybe Deakin as a middle name or nick name perhaps.

The other spellings, no!

DJ, Vi, Deacon and Avery. Not my taste but they sound good together. Agree with previous poster re. Tate - lovely name and works well with Avery.

Dexter and Violet are great names. However I think your twin boy names are kind of odd, sorry. Easy to misread as Avery and Deacon.

Kody is also nice but I much prefer it as Cody.

If I chose Tate and Avery, would it be too odd to give them both middle names with J so they'd be TJ and AJ? Then I'd have DJ TJ and AJ and Vi which I'm not sure go well but do love names shortend like that aha

I think Deacon and Avery or Aubrey would sound and look better.

@scattycharly Yeah Cody is better in my opinion but my partner has a best made called Kody which is why we were thinking of it. Another name we likes was Corey but I'm not sure if Corey and K/Cody would be too cheesy, aha. Sound like surfers from a beach movie

Yeah I've always loved names like that which is why Dexter is always DJ (Also because we watched the TV show Dexter and weren't sure if we wanted him named after a serial killer aha)

Brother Sport will be a great song to play to them

@cosmoa Me and my partner did like names like Noel,Liam,Kurt . he liked Damon (Blur) but I didn't aha. Russel and murdoc were in there but I couldn't call a baby that! Lennon and Starr were there too but we felt like they were probably all too over done

Cody is gorgeous, and Vincent would actually make a very cool first name with nn Vince. So how about Cody James Deakin and Vincent Tate Avey (or Tate Avey Vincent)? These sound awesome and would allow you to reflect your love of the Animal Collective band in their names. :) Plus, CJ and Vince would make such a cute pair of nn's! Good luck in deciding OP.
