Seen this somewhere else before and it threw out some brilliant names and unusual choices so....
your guilty pleasure names, names you love but perhaps wouldn’t use

Phoenix for a girl. Love it. Definitely a guilty pleasure

vampirethriller · 28/05/2018 18:32

Callula
Callisto
Atticus
Lysander
Inigo

SamanthaH92 · 28/05/2018 18:33

I love Willa and Waverley for a girl. Not allowed to pick them though, partner and orher family members have put their foot down!

Ceebs85 · 28/05/2018 18:34

Noa for a girl. Wasn't brave enough to use it. Which is lucky because everyone thinks my 9 month old girl is a boy as it is Grin

Delia

CommonFishDiseases · 28/05/2018 19:24

Has anyone seen their child's name on this thread? One of my DCs' middle names is here Blush

HeyDolly · 28/05/2018 19:35

Yes Common, my DD’s name has appeared once Grin

GreatDuckCookery6211 · 28/05/2018 21:35

Bathsheba
Woody

Southernstars · 29/05/2018 00:42

Bijou for a girl.

SnowGoArea · 29/05/2018 01:56

One of my DCs names is on here!

I like but wouldn't use Emerald for a girl and Indiana for a boy.

DammitOedipus · 29/05/2018 02:17

Clarence. Poor lad would have the working-class crap kicked out of him.

BitOfFun · 29/05/2018 02:43

Ignatius (Iggy for short)

Cleopatra (purely because there's a song with it and our surname that I love)

Patal · 29/05/2018 07:55

Not saying I wouldn’t use these for future DC but persuading DH is the problem - I adore them!

Pixie and Finty for girls
Kingsley and Huxley for boys

Ankorna · 29/05/2018 08:08

Isidore for a boy.

robotcartrainhat · 29/05/2018 11:22

I forgot Horatio!
and Cymbaline/Cymbeline

Both my childrens names have been mentioned by people here Blush but I thought they were quite 'normal' myself!

BasicBetty · 29/05/2018 13:56

Achilles
Maximus
Atticus
Tallulah
Valentina

Sammilouwho · 29/05/2018 19:20

I love Clementine for a girl and always wanted Algernon for a boy, DH vetoed both but I did get my way for DD's middle name and of Bronte!

TillyTheTiger · 29/05/2018 19:32

Emmanuel
Jedediah nn Jed
Genevieve

SuperMumTum · 29/05/2018 19:35

I know a Persephone and know of a Ptolomy! They don't stand out too much round here (although obvs a bit odd compared to all the Poppys and Charlies).

SecretNutellaFix · 29/05/2018 19:35

These threads remind me of that classic line from CS Lewis.

"There was a boy named Eustace Clarence Scrubb and he almost deserved it."

That said Ignatius and Dexter have always figured highly on my list of favourite boys names. Sadly never going to be used, but still.

FizzingWhizzbee · 29/05/2018 19:39

For girls:
Ginevra
Winter

For boys:
Oberon
Merlin

I don't think I'd be brave enough to use any of these (not that we're having any more children), but DH would 100% veto anyway. I do especially love Merlin though.

Thesearmsofmine · 29/05/2018 19:43

Queenie

concretesieve · 29/05/2018 19:44

I love Marilla, but thoroughly dislike Rilla as a shortened form.

chinam · 29/05/2018 19:46

Isis. I love it but could never use it, for obvious reasons.

Allgirlskidsanddogs · 29/05/2018 19:48

Mallory and Raferty

MyBreadIsEggy · 29/05/2018 19:53

Phoenix
Tatiana
Arizona
Mateo
