Our list is as further below.
Which one do you like? Can you rate them between 1-10 or say which ones you like best? We live in the U.K., but have Greek and Spanish heritage

Matilde / Matilda (DH’s favourite)
Eleonora (DM’s favourite, we did ask her)
Vanesa
Tereza
Thisbe (one of my favourites pronounced ThEEZ-bee)
Cecilia
Phoebe
Ariadne
Semeli (pronounced Se-ME-lee, too similar to smelly?)
Amalia (We have a DS Emilio, too similar?)

Vanessa and Teresa

Awwlookatmybabyspider · 10/05/2018 09:51

Yes Semelie is far too close to smelly

Awwlookatmybabyspider · 10/05/2018 09:52

Also like Matilda

Emma198 · 10/05/2018 09:53

Matilde is the only one I like

RedDwarves · 10/05/2018 09:57

Love Matilda, not as fussed on Matilde.

Eleonora is lovely.

Don't like Vanesa or Teresa. Outdated.

Thisbe fizzing whizbee.

Not a fan of Cecilia, nor of the meaning.

Love Phoebe.

Not a fan of Ariadne. Reminds me of spiders for no real reason.

Semeli is simply Emily with an S.

Amalia and Emilio are too close, absolutely.

Pompom42 · 10/05/2018 09:58

Cecilia and Eleonora my faves

Don't like Vanessa or Teresa at all

Pompom42 · 10/05/2018 09:59

Plus Eleonora goes lovely with Emilio do you think?

chezmk1988 · 10/05/2018 10:00

Eleonora

Sophronia · 10/05/2018 10:03

I love Ariadne. Also like Ariadna the Spanish version.

user1498549192 · 10/05/2018 10:07

I love Cecilia, Ariadne and Matilda.

Frosty66612 · 10/05/2018 10:09

I really like Ariadne. Not keen on the others

BrutusMcDogface · 10/05/2018 10:09

Eleonora is the best by a long shot, in my opinion.

Semeli = smelly, for sure. Don't do it!

MyBreadIsEggy · 10/05/2018 10:09

Eleonora and Phoebe are my favourites from you list Smile

BrutusMcDogface · 10/05/2018 10:10

I quite like Matilda, too, though I know loads of Matildas if popularity would put you off. If she's Matilde I expect she'd spend her whole life being called Matilda (in the uk, anyway)

userabcname · 10/05/2018 10:12

I like Matilda and Ariadne best from your list.

Sugarpiehoneyeye · 10/05/2018 10:13

Cecilia (CeCe).

bridgetreilly · 10/05/2018 10:37

In order, I like:
Cecilia
Thisbe
Phoebe
Eleonora
Matilde
Amalia (though I do think it's too close to Emilio)
Tereza
Vanesa
Tereza
Ariadne
Semeli (pronounced Se-ME-lee, too similar to smelly?)

Lifeaback · 10/05/2018 10:39

Matilda and Eleonora

TatianaLarina · 10/05/2018 10:41

Like Phoebe, Cecilia and Matilda. Can’t go wrong with any of those. (Altho Matilda is very popular.)

Thisbe is a comic character in Midsummer Night’s Dream played by a man. Semele is a wonderful opera but too close to smelly and semolina.

Can’t stand Eleanor or Eleanora - sounds like Eeyore.

SinisterBumFacedCat · 10/05/2018 10:42

Ariadne is lovely

Matilde just reminds me of Zoolanda
"Matild, can I call you Matild?"

Purple999Red · 10/05/2018 10:43

One of my schoolmate's name is XYZA very unique. :)

stickygotstuck · 10/05/2018 10:46

Ariadne
Phoebe
Thisbe (although I guess in the UK most people will wonder how to pronounce it)
Cecilia

In that order.

All others nice too, with the proviso of Semeli being to similar to 'smelly, unfortunately.

TatianaLarina · 10/05/2018 10:47

Amalia is nice too but too close to Emilio.

I’m a big fan of Ancient Greek names: Hera, Artemis, Demeter, Aphrodite, Io, Astraea, Electra, Selene, Iris.

As you have Spanish heritage I also like Paloma.

tigerrun · 10/05/2018 10:51

Thisbe pronounced ThEEZ-bee - sounds like Frisbee pronounced FrEEZ-bee. The smelly one definitely sounds like smelly.

Like Phoebe though - all the Phoebe's I have know have been lovely - is there a revival of the name now Friends is on all the time (the first wave of popularity was late nineties at the height of Friends I think?)

keepingbees · 10/05/2018 10:53

I like Ariadne, Phoebe and Eleonora.
I don't like Thisbe sorry, it sounds like frisbee with a lisp (sorry!)
