DD2 will be here in 10 days and I’m completely freaking out about names.

We have an Elizabeth (nn Lizzie) which I think is timeless and classic with lots of cute nickname possibilities. Can’t seem to find another name that’s in the same league.

Thought we had decided on Georgina/ Georgia but now having real doubts, plus DH wants Georgia and I prefer Georgina.

Other names I’m considering:
Katherine - love Kitty but would rather not use Katherine as I have lots of close friends with the name.
Emily - love but too popular
Emilia - too much like Amelia, which is too popular
Annabel - not convinced by Anna, Annie or Bella
Jemima - worried it’s a bit ‘out there’, not in love with Jem or Mimi either.
Rose/ Rosalind (nn Rosie) - love Rosie but our surname starts with R and DH thinks it sounds like a stripper name!
Francesca - DH has vetoed
Matilda - DH isn’t keen
Alice - seems a bit ‘plain’ somehow.

Not keen on Victoria or Beatrice and Juliet doesn’t work with our surname
I like Margaret, Charlotte and Alexandra but can’t use because family members have taken them.

Any thoughts on the above?

Our Miriam goes by Miri and we have received so many compliments over the years. We also liked Nina.

I think Katherine after your friends, with Kitty for everyday use, would be lovely. Sorry you’ve wavered on Georgina and can’t use Alexandra or Juliet - they’re great!

Thanks for all the suggestions. Some that I like but I’m still struggling to love anything.

I guess I’m going to stick with a shortlist for now and hope that something jumps out at us once she’s here (next week!). Have added some of th suggestions from here to shortlist

Violet is just my favourite name- saving it for my baby when I eventually get round to it! Rose is cute. I love Alice but know what you mean about it being abit plain

I like Georgina, and I think your husband can probably get away with calling her Georgia as a nickname if he likes :)

It's time for this to make a comeback! Not very common, Biblical and can be shortened to a few versions

Seriously, I would go with Katherine - Kitty, Kate, Katie, Kat, as it’s classic and gorgeous and goes so well with Elizabeth. You might not know these other Katherine’s forever or you might move away or they could move away etc. Are they called Kitty? I really hope you pick Katherine :)
