Which do you prefer and why?

Nell.

Ramona isn't good.

I do like Brexitia!

Remona, Brexitia and Bregreta would be a nicely contrasting set.

If I'd had my way, my DD would be called Ramona. I love it!

Ramona by a country mile! Quirky and has substance.
Really dislike Nell, but I do like some of the names for which it could be a nickname... Helena, Helene, Penelope.

I like Ramona more but I also don't like the 'moan' sound in Ramona.

Fairly evenly split then, by the sounds of it. “Remoaner” hadn’t occurred to me but I doubt she’ll be teased for that in 10 years. Seems a shame not to pick a name based on something like that.

Nell I love as is. I do like Helena, Eleanor et al but Nell fits better with our family. One of her siblings has a 1-syllable nickname on the BC and the other has a short name that doesn’t lend itself to nicknames.

I’ve grown to like Ramona over the last few weeks, mainly due to watching a little black cat on tiny kittens.com who’s about to give birth.

Incidentally for fans of the Ramona Quimby books, Beverley Cleary celebrated her 102nd birthday last week!

I like Nell too, but I’d only use it with a surname longer than one syllable.

Ramona! Love it! I used to listen to story-tapes as a child about a character called Ramona Quimby and I have loved it ever since! DH vetoed it for DD

I have a Ramona. Inspired by the Ramona Quimby books and Ramona Flowers of Scott Pilgrim vs. The World.

She is growing up to be a very strong character pain in the area and her name really sits her. Whenever met another one, but I do get some odd spellings and some people, including the health visitor, call her Romana, which I hate as a name.

I also have a good friend Nell, who is lovely and sweet and kind. So I'm no help at all as I think they're both lovely names.
