Everest?

DH and I can’t decide on any names at all for either sex. It’s getting ridiculous with approx 6 weeks to go, if I follow my first.

My 2.5 year old says the baby is called Everest (yes, from paw patrol 🙈). In my madness I’m actually considering it. Is this just hormones and desperation clouding my judgement. Or would it be acceptable?

For a girl or a boy?!

AyeAyeFishyPie · 31/03/2018 17:27

Everest for a baby? I just can't get over it.

I'll get my coat.

WeaselsRising · 31/03/2018 17:37

I work with a man named Everest if that helps. He is in his 30s, and nobody but me batted an eyelid about his name Grin

Awwlookatmybabyspider · 31/03/2018 18:02

AyeAye. Grin

PestoSurfissimos · 31/03/2018 18:14

I like it Smile

Oysterbabe · 31/03/2018 18:25

Chase is better.

Ginnotginger · 31/03/2018 18:32

Dgs1 wanted to call his brother Romeo after the baddie in PJ Masks. Like you OP my dd started to seriously consider it as she didn't like any names at all by late pregnancy.

threatlevelmidnight · 31/03/2018 18:35

I love the name Everard - same vibe but more legit

Topseyt · 31/03/2018 18:40

No. It is either a mountain or a double glazing firm.

Viviene · 31/03/2018 20:41

I'm with @GnotherGnu - can you imagine the teasing - hey Everest, can I climb you?

No!

NapQueen · 31/03/2018 20:44

My ds goes to Nursery with Marshall and Skye. Even he at 3yp says "but no Rocky or Rubble mammy".

Dont do it. Or save it for a middle name.

RapunzelIsHere · 31/03/2018 23:51

No way can you use this name OP. Get thinking of another one!

readysetcake · 01/04/2018 10:33

Some of these responses have made me and DH chuckle Grin I think the hormones are a little less today and I’m thinking more clearly. Agree with MrsJosh it’s a shit name. Back to the drawing board!

ColinsVeryJolly · 02/04/2018 14:09

I really like it, particularly if pronounced the 'proper' way

phoenix1973 · 02/04/2018 14:11

Fit the best, fit Everest 🤣🤣🤣double glazing 🤣

SerenaVanDerWoodsen · 02/04/2018 14:14

I’ve always quite liked Zuma! But seriously, no. Glad you’re going back to the drawing board. Are there ANY other names you like? It might help us give you some suggestions that are not characters from children’s tv

readysetcake · 02/04/2018 21:11

No names we really like. Especially for boys. Just ones that are, meh ok.
We both prefer more traditional names but that then limits your choice and none seem to be jumping out at us. The front runner at the moment for a boy is Owen. But neither of us say it with much conviction.

I didn’t know there was more than one way to say Everest? @CollinsVeryJolly

Kittykatmacbill · 04/04/2018 07:53

Well you would be naming him/her after one of the most important imperial cartographers en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/George_Everest

Which I think will outlast the horror that is paw patrol.

VileyRose · 04/04/2018 08:41

Well Levison woods says ever-rest and that puts me off.

Arapaima · 04/04/2018 08:47

How about Ben short for Ben Nevis Smile

IVflytrap · 04/04/2018 09:23

Evan?

Sugarpiehoneyeye · 04/04/2018 09:35

What's the name of your little one, to give us some idea of what you may like ?

ColinsVeryJolly · 04/04/2018 11:53

I think the correct pronunciation of the surname of the guy it's named after was Eve-rest.

Which I think sounds nicer as a name.

ColinsVeryJolly · 04/04/2018 11:56

Just found this as I started to doubt myself Smile

Blackbirdblue30 · 04/04/2018 11:57
