DH thinks too many F's

For a long time now, I wanted Freddie for our baby (due in 18 days!)

DH is totally on board with it, first or middle name. I want Freddie after my Grandad, so really it was non-negotiable Grin

We've still been occasionally mentioning names. But nothing has stood out enough for me to want that as a first name.

UNTIL
DH mentioned Felix.
I can't stop thinking about it.
I absolutely love it.

But DH thinks Felix Freddie is too much.
Our surname begins with M and I think it flows quite nicely.. no one actually uses a middle name anyway.

Unless you are going to be calling "Freddie Felix" across the park regularly, IMO it doesn't matter. People on here sometimes worry about first and middle names 'going', but unless they say something rude together eg Arse Hole it's not a problem

pinkflamingo121318 · 20/03/2018 05:56

That's what I told him! Barely anyone knows my middle name.

In my opinion, it goes together quite nicely.
(first name) Felix
(middle name) Freddie

Freddie is the only name we've agreed on.
Until he suggested Felix. He doesn't love it anywhere near as much as I do. But has said as I'm the one pushing him out, I can have final say 😂

I like the sound of Felix Freddie, go for it!

MikeUniformMike · 20/03/2018 06:51

Depends on the surname.
Felix Freddie Flamingo?

JellySlice · 20/03/2018 06:55

Felix Alfred?

Alfred Felix flows even more nicely IMO.

NameChangeDestroyer · 20/03/2018 07:30

Felix Freddie is fine (but Felix Frederick is better)

Wishfulmakeupping · 20/03/2018 07:32

Felix Freddie is fine but do like the other suggestions of Alfred or Frederick better

MiniMaxi · 20/03/2018 07:41

I like pp suggestion of Felix Alfred, unless your Granddad is/was a Frederick in which case I think Felix Frederick is nice too. Or how about Wilfred?

Otherwise you could add a second middle name to break it up a bit

e.g. Felix John Frederick M
e.g. Felix Benjamin Freddie M

(I would add a long second mn if using Freddie and a short one if using Frederick but that may just be me!)

pinkflamingo121318 · 20/03/2018 08:08

Grandad is Frederick, but goes by Fred.

Before DH mentioned Felix, I loved Freddie George.. until I realised George is my grandads middle name which is clearly why I liked them together!!

My other two children have names that are in the top 10 (unintentionally) but they also sound nice with Felix.
I like that it's slightly different, not too common but not too unusual and people won't ask how to spell it!

Surname begins with M and has 8 letters. Seems to sound nice with every name (except ones that start with M!)

I think it’s fine.

BertrandRussell · 20/03/2018 10:00

Felix Freddie sounds a bit childish- like a character in a picture book

Felix Frederick sounds great.

snoooop · 20/03/2018 10:21

Felix Frederick sounds like an action hero!

SumAndSubstance · 20/03/2018 10:47

I agree that Felix Frederick sounds much better than Felix Freddie. For some reason the double F doesn't sound as obvious.

MammieBear · 20/03/2018 10:52

Freddie Felix is cute.

BertrandRussell · 20/03/2018 10:53

“Freddie Felix is cute“

Excellent reason for not using it!

panetonnebraxton · 20/03/2018 11:05

I think Felix Freddie M_ sounds just fine, and like people have said, they'll almost never be said together anyway.

MyBrilliantDisguise · 20/03/2018 11:06

Such a shame your surname doesn't begin with 'S'.

Grin
TatianaLarina · 20/03/2018 13:30

Felix Frederick is fine.

BasiliskStare · 20/03/2018 15:21

One more for Felix Frederick if you like it, Better than Felix Freddie. Ach - not my choice , DS has a good friend called Felix - never gone wrong in 20 years.

FizzyGreenWater · 20/03/2018 17:00

Felix Frederick better than Felix Freddie. But both fine!

FizzyGreenWater · 20/03/2018 17:01

I dare you to go for a third middle name

FizzyGreenWater · 20/03/2018 17:01

Felix Freddie Fandango

NotUmbongoUnchained · 20/03/2018 17:03

I think Freddie Felix sounds better

PeterRabbitEatingHisCarrot · 20/03/2018 17:18

I would go for Felix Fredrick.

Since Fredrick was your grandfather’s full name and I think it would be silly to use a shortening.

GreatDuckCookery6211 · 20/03/2018 19:38

Felix Frederick sounds better than Freddie.
Go for it OP.
