We’ve hit a bit of a stalemate on the following names, two I love, two DP loves. Which would you choose and why?

Beatrice / Aaliyah / Christabel / Tabitha

Christabel, with Christa for short. Pretty.

I hate Beatrice (an absolute mumsnet fave, though). Aaliyah always makes me think of the dead American singer (sorry). Tabitha is a cat or a witch. Or a witch’s cat.

Christabel is lovely, but for me I’d spell it ‘Cristabel,’ without the h.

Not Aaliyah. It's awful. Also... as a teacher I teach three, all of whom are mouthy and naughty! The others are all fine.

Beatrice by preference but Cristabel (also prefer this spelling) is nice too.

I had a very unfortunate experience with a Tabitha so I’m prejudiced against the name. Grin

Aaliyah is a gorgeous name with a better mouthfeel than Tabitha. At least to me anyway.

Aaliyah has much more meaning than a singer. Hmm

I hate to say it but Tabitha sounds a little like a cat's name. I think Aaliyah is gorgeous

Tabitha - my favourite girl's name. I also like Christabel, it has a nice sound about it. Beatrice - never liked it and I don't understand why it's so popular tbh. Really don't like Aaliyah, sorry.

I hate to say this but Aaliyah is a very chavt name and to me is in the same league as the Armani and Miami's of this world.
The other 3 are strong classy names.
My sister has a Tabitha Clementine

I like Beatrix better than Beatrice but both are lovely, and Christabel is really gorgeous. I wouldn't spell it without the h - it's like using Cristopher or Cristine in this country - unless you have southern European roots where that's how they spell that group of names - I think it just looks like you're trying to be "unique"!

I like Aaliyah but consider Tabitha a cat name really, sorry. Congratulations OP Flowers

Beatrice or Tabitha - hard to chose between the two but probably the latter as first choice.

Really don’t like the other two choices, especially Christabel.

Aaliyah is a lovely name. People who describe children's names as chavvy are not people I would wish to be friends with.
