Inspire me with names for my identical twins!

They are due in the summer, so we have time but need to start opening mine and DP's minds up to ideas! Identical twins, we don't want too 'matchy' names but also don't want them to grate against each other. We already have a boy called Finn. We have some Irish heritage but live in England, a nod to Irish would be nice but not essential, I'm more English than Irish. I hope that makes sense. Please hit me with your name suggestions to get the ball rolling! Thanks

Do you know their sex?

That's a good start, thank you. I would consider them but think they're a bit too royal for us. I struggle with boys names in particular to find the middle ground between royal and sounding a bit made up. Please keep the suggestions coming!

No, we don't know their sex and DP doesn't want to find out until they're born which means the number of names we have to come up with is ridiculous... They are identical, though, so either boy-boy or girl - girl twins.

My boys are not identical but I went with fairly traditional, simple names that begin with the same letter but are otherwise different. There are a set of twins in my local twin group called Ronnie and Reggie!

I wanted to go to Frasier and Niles but DH said no sadly.

My other option was Albert and Frederick, the twins from The Prestige - another veto (boo).

We had to literally sit in front of the biggest list of boys names and write down any we didn’t hate. Names on our list were

I think boys names are mostly dull or hipster which i struggled with. If I’d been more brave i would have considered Fitzgerald 😂

I knew a Purdey at school and always thought her name was awesome!

Edward and John are good strong classic names. Johnny is cute, as is Teddy but I prefer Ed/Eddy.
There is a famous set of twins with these names.

Finn's middle name is Frederick so don't think I could name a baby after his brother. James and Matthew are being considered. Yes sillybub, the Irish spellings did throw me a bit, the Irish in me is a bit too watered down to go for those convincingly! I like Owen, Rory I love but struggle to say my 'R' s properly so that would worry me a bit!
