Could I please ask your opinions on the name Peter? It's a family name that would be nice to use and is growing on me, but I think it is a little unusual in the sense that it's not very common anymore.

I love it and wanted it for DS but dh wasn't keen. It makes me think of Peter's railway and Peter rabbit stories.

If we have a boy it’s going to be his middle name as it’s dh and ddads middle name and fils and my grandfathers first name. Don’t love it but love the connection.

It means rock.

I'm not keen on Peter or Andrew at all - and I am a big fan of strong, traditional names - my son is a James, also love Edward, Joseph, Matthew etc but really not keen on Peter!! Sorry!

My 8 month old is a Peter! I'm not bothered what other people think as I love it and we chose it for family reasons too, but I do get lots of lovely comments on his name.

I have a Pete. Named for family reasons, I was a bit Luke warm about it but then realised all of the Pete’s I knew were laid back lovely men so warmed to it. DS has followed his namesakes and is definitely a “rock”. Since he’s the only one in his year he’s never had a nickname unlike the multiple Williams, Georges or Harry’s.

I know a 10 month old called Peter. It's not a name I'd pick personally, but certainly nothing wrong with it. If you like it then go for it!

Love it! Every Peter I know is lovely although to be fair I don't know any under 35, however I think a little Peter would be a lovely change. It's quite timeless I think and doesn't really date.
