So names I love are Ben or Robbie but DP hates them. He loves Alfie but I hate it.

Other names I am thinking of suggesting are

Fraser
Alex
Ross
Euan
Tom
Sam

We are living in England if that makes a difference (but we are Scottish)

Anyone have any other ideas? We have such different tastes in starting to think this baby will remain nameless.

Tom is gorgeous. It suits through every stage of life.
Adorable. On a baby.
Cute on the school name peg
Cool for teenager.
Strong and masculine yet at the sametime gentle for a man.
Not overly common nowadays.
What's not to love. All the Toms I've ever met have been lovely and very handsome.

villainousbroodmare · 24/01/2018 00:17

Also love Tom.

catsofa · 24/01/2018 00:19

Another vote for Tom, can't go wrong with it, it's lovely.

Murray
Stirling

We are formula 1 fans and DH is Scottish so these were on our shortlist, but never used.

Love Fraser.

Like Ross (but Poldark effect), Euan and Fraser. How about Alasdair?

How about Benjamin shortened to Jamie?...

PricillaQueenOfTheDesert · 24/01/2018 13:03

I have to agree with other posters about Tom. It’s a lovely name, I had three dds, but I wanted Charlie for a boy. I also love the name Alex. For something different I like Dexter.

Sunisshining12 · 24/01/2018 13:03

Tom

Tryingtogetitright · 24/01/2018 13:04

Or Aiden?

MikeUniformMike · 24/01/2018 13:06

It's important that you both like the name.
I like Ben but dislike Alfie - I think it would be cute for a dog but not for a man.
Robbie is OK.
Fraser - Yes. Like it.
Alex - so many of them
Ross - ok
Euan - ok
Tom -ok but lots of Toms
Sam - yes
Elliot - no, sounds feeble.
Ellis - ok
Finbar - NO. So many Finns
Callum - yes
Max - yes
Oscar - NO
Milo - NO
Atticus - NO. Don't.

Any other thoughts on Fraser? how is it thought of in England (where he will be growing up)

Also quite keen on Tom now I've had such a lovely response here. I do like Alasdair but not keen on something that has multiple spellings which could cause confusion.

Don't really like Fraser. I have 2 DDs and that's us done. My boy names were Luke and Zach.

MikeUniformMike · 24/01/2018 14:43

Fraser is lovely but will get shortened and lots of people will say Frasier.
There's a House of Fraser not far from me and lots of people call it House of Frasier.
Tom is classic.
Luke/Lucas and Zac/Zachary are pretty popular.

pipilangstrumpf · 24/01/2018 14:47

Tom, Ben, Sam and Alex are very common and a little dull due to overuse imo.

Fraser is a lovely name! Strong, classic but not dull or overused. Great choice!
