What do you think of the name Thea Millie? Both names to dedicate mine and Dh grandmothers. Our surname is a nice sounding simple name (my maiden name was bad so appreciate my married name)

Also for a boy we have decided on Isaiah David (definitely not everyone taste)

Lovely! I wish we had used it x

LovelyBranches · 18/01/2018 19:53

Did Mildred have a middle name?

lgh05 · 18/01/2018 20:08

No unfortunately not. So mildred or Millie is my only choice. (Really not a fan of Mildred)

@Igh05 If YOU are happy with those names, and it honours the grandparents as YOU see fit, have the names of your choosing. Once you are introduced to a person, you never know them as anything else.

Buck3t · 18/01/2018 22:03

By YOU I mean you and your DH. Hope that's clear.

lgh05 · 18/01/2018 22:05

Yeah definitely xx

I like your boy’s name but the mispronounciation of Thea would put me off

Estellanpip · 18/01/2018 23:35

I like it but Thea is already soft sounding so I think Millicent complements it better.
I much prefer Dorothy Millie though
Or Thora Millie
Or Doralie Mildred

But yes I like the name you've chosen!

" I like your boy’s name but the mispronounciation of Thea would put me off "

it's just a different way of saying it, not a ' mispronounciation' anyway it would be 'mispronunciation' if you want to be that picky.

pilates · 19/01/2018 16:07

Hope that makes you feel superior DullAndOld 🙄

icenasliceplease · 19/01/2018 16:09

Ith a bit lithpy.

DullAndOld · 19/01/2018 16:10

not half as superior as you felt when you typed 'mispronounciation' that's for sure Grin

dancingqueen345 · 19/01/2018 16:11

I've always thought Thea was a nn for Heather, although now writing it I'm not sure why!

Lucylululu · 20/01/2018 06:24

Lovely!

Love it my sister had a friend called Thea I thought it was a pretty name then ( I was a teenager then) and have never met another one. A friend of mine has an Isaiah I think it is a lovely name too. Congratulations.

lgh05 · 21/01/2018 20:49

Aww thank you @Bowerbird5 that’s really encouraging Smile

I have a Thea who is 7 so obviously I love it! She is the only Thea at school. I wouldn't worry about mispronounciation, it's VERY rare in my experience and if it happens, my daughter is extremely quick to correct!! I find that a single syllable middle name goes best with that name :)
