I have an Iris, a Beatrice and an Elspeth and need some help with potential DD4, (we have a boys name).

The list is currently:
Agatha
Verity
Tabitha
Cecelia
Cornelia.

Thoughts? Any other suggestions?

Thanks.

How has no one suggested Martha?! It’s the first name I thought of when I saw your list!

There are some beautiful, beautiful names on this thread. Of the ones suggested by the OP, I like Tabitha and Verity best.

Thank you all! People have been really nice about our names. Looking forward to going through the suggestions with DH.

Don't usually get involved with these threads, but I have to say that I wish I'd been brave enough to go with Agatha for my dd, who is now almost thirty. Or Winifred, after my lovely great aunt who was like a granny to me.

I wanted a 'great aunt' name for my daughter. There were a whole bunch of women who came of age during the First World War. Many didn't marry, as expected at the time because so many men were killed, but these were strong women, who got on with their lives, who wouldn't let anyone mess with them.

My wish for my daughter was that she would grow up to be a strong woman, not letting anyone walk all over her, doing what she wanted to do rather than letting life dictate to her, and that is largely what she is.

Ironically, the deeply unfashionable name I gave her is now all over the place and seems to be regarded as pretty and girly.

I also thought of Martha when I saw your DDs’ names.

How about Ethne?

Would you be willing to share your boy name? I think we have similar tastes and I am really stuck on boys’ names...

Somelikeitchilly · 14/01/2018 21:20

I’ve chosen Sebastian, with Gabriel and Jasper as reserve names.

Love your boy names as well! Gabriel is my favourite, but like them all enormously.

Do you like any more of the ideas here, OP?
