Kaia

Nova doesn’t sound like the name of a person.

Love Nola though.

UnmentionedElephantDildo · 13/01/2018 07:59

"Hopefully most would be in the scrap yard by time baby is old enough to realise!"

They already are. But look how many people know the name.

Marina is only now beginning to recover, and that was a less popular car in the first place and a real name (known because of the princess) beforehand the car came out.

Nova just doesn't have the track record as a name, and was a way more popular car. (Though I doubt anyone would think it was a place of conception name!)

PeterPiperPickedSeaShells · 13/01/2018 08:06

Nova also means "won't go", it's why they changed the name of the car!!

PhatSlag · 13/01/2018 08:14

Kaia.

Love Aster too or Astra if you want to continue with the Vauxhall theme

SandLand · 13/01/2018 08:15

Just throwing another in there: Novi

Bastardingcough · 13/01/2018 08:20

I prefer Nova to Kaia, there are lots of Kaya/Kyla/Kia around her.
What about Juno?

FreddieClaryHorshieLion · 13/01/2018 08:25

I know an adult amed Nova (very elegant, intelligent). It really suits hear... so no, the name doesn’t seem weird to me personally. And Supernova isn’t a bad association.

FreddieClaryHorshieLion · 13/01/2018 08:28

You might also like Astra, Astraea, Kyra, Vela and Cora.

Shinybothways · 13/01/2018 08:33

Astra??? Are you mad?

SwinginFromTheChandelier · 13/01/2018 08:36

Nova.

Although it's possible you're going to get the "conceived on the back seat of a " jokes....

FreddieClaryHorshieLion · 13/01/2018 08:55

Shiny

I know an Astra. :)

peachypetite · 13/01/2018 08:56

Not a fan of either but nova is definitely the worst.

Ohyesiam · 13/01/2018 09:47

They sound like names for products to me I'm afraid.

PricklyBall · 13/01/2018 09:52

"I think Nova actually is a model of car!" Indeed - the Vauxhall Nova. I used to have one, until some bugger wrecked the steering column trying to nick it.

LinoleumBlownapart · 13/01/2018 10:06

Nova is the actual word for new in some languages, so I prefer Kaia as it sounds more like a name.

Halfdrankbrew · 13/01/2018 10:12

I'd probably go for a Kia they do some really roomy models, I don't think they make the Vauxhall Nova anymore?

Sorry but both are terrible names and I wouldn't normally say that to someone picking names.

OnNaturesCourse · 13/01/2018 11:25

Go with Nova - least it won't be popular going by these comments lol.

lynmilne65 · 13/01/2018 11:32

Neither

PricklyBall · 13/01/2018 11:37

Mini
Aygo
Deux Cee Vee (you may feel 2 middle names is a tad pretentious, though)
Panda
Ka

There's a lot out there to choose from...

Growingboys · 13/01/2018 11:37

Neither

Sevendown · 13/01/2018 11:57

Kaia

Nova is a car

Oysterbabe · 13/01/2018 13:18

Neither. How about Luna?

MikeUniformMike · 13/01/2018 13:51

Kaia sounds like Kayak.
Gaia is nice though.
Nova sounds like a 1980s Vauxhall car.

Chocolateyescakeyes · 13/01/2018 16:43

Yes, however, I do not live in a a predominantly Spanish, French etc speaking country, hence that would not sway me against the name.
