I'm 38 weeks and we're still to decide on a name from our list. We love all of them so just want honest opinions on what you think of (if anything) when you hear them! Any suggestions are welcome and bonus points for cute nicknames!
Cairn
Conall
Dougal nn. Dougie
Fraser
Lachlan nn. Lockie
Struan

I thought Ossian was Irish?

What about Seoraidh, pronouncing fed Shorey.

CormoranStrike · 14/01/2018 15:58

pronounced ffs

kittymason · 14/01/2018 16:42

personally I adore the name Hamish if we're going Scottish.. maybe Mish/Mishy or Hay as a nickname? x

Ifyouthinkiwillsleepyoudream · 14/01/2018 16:48

Donald! Don or Donnie

TatianaLarina · 15/01/2018 09:42

Oisín is the Irish version.

Ossian is from Fingal’s Cave.

17caterpillars1mouse · 15/01/2018 12:57

I like Fraser and Lochlan

I love Struan!

Hamish is my all time favourite Scottish boys name though. I also like Angus and Malcolm

I love dougie, not so much dougall, but understand the need for a 'proper' name on the b/c.
Also like Fraser
I know it's not on your list but I've always loved Angus.
Lockie (even as a nickname) sounds more suitable for a pet than a child. But I do like Lachlan.

PeasAndHarmony · 15/01/2018 20:54

Fraser is my favourite from your list but my favourite Scottish name is Keir

MancUnicorn · 15/01/2018 21:18

Out of the ones on the list I like Fraser. Dougal reminds me of Magic Roundabout and Father Ted...but I really like Dougie as a nickname.

I agree with another poster suggestion of Arran as opposed to Aaron. Amazing how a slight change in spelling alters everything!
