Does anyone else see the appeal? (for a girl)

gunty my great grandmother used to sing that all the time Grin

I thought of a cow straight away but I have a Daisy and my ddad said it was a cow's name Grin I ignored him so if you like Clover then just go for it.

It's a pretty name

thamesk8 · 12/01/2018 00:48

i Love it!

Rainbowmother · 12/01/2018 01:03

The first health visitor to come and visit me after I had DC was called Clover. I think is pretty.

Also Amy winehouse sings about a clover in 1 of her songs

tiptopteepe · 12/01/2018 01:16

I think its lovely!

BendydickCuminsnatch · 12/01/2018 04:41

I know a newborn one! None of these connotations came to mind but I’m sure I won’t be able to look at her the same now Grin

Joeybee · 12/01/2018 06:33

I don't like it. Too delicate and flowery and weak. I also can only imagine it on a pet, not a child. It'd be okay as a middle name.

ohlittlepea · 12/01/2018 06:39

I absolutely love this name, from What Katy Did 😍 but OH ruled out because of the butter connotations. Its so pretty.

pipilangstrumpf · 12/01/2018 08:16

It sounds quite masculine to my ears, like Rover or Grover.

greenharp · 12/01/2018 21:03

Immediate word that came to mind hearing clover as a name was rabbit

CruCru · 12/01/2018 23:13

I actually think that this would be pretty for a tiny baby or very old lady - but not that good for an adult or teenager. I get that not everyone is going to be given a terribly grand name but a really "cute" name - the sort that people will stop and say "REALLY?!?" - must be quite a heavy weight to bear.

ivenoideawhatimdoing · 12/01/2018 23:14

Sorry OP, all I hear is 'it's the way that it churns'

Neverseenstarwars · 13/01/2018 13:47

Does anyone remember the song (I think it was a rude version of a traditional song) with a chorus that went

Roll me over in the clover, roll me over, lay me down and do it again.

I'm going to spend the rest of the day trying to think of the first part now

Neverseenstarwars · 13/01/2018 13:49

I see Gunty beat me to it Grin

MikeUniformMike · 13/01/2018 13:49

Not much of one for spreads that aren't butter but as names go I prefer Flora.
