Are there any names that Hugo could be a nickname for?

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

If Hugo on a zombie thread and post @TheDogsMother it makes people all cross. Best Hugo to the current threads for your entertainment. I Wanda if the OP did chose the name Hugo in the end?

I work with a Hugo, we all call him Hugoagogo (no hyphens!) he's a lovely bloke and more than happy to elongate his name.

It's weird how if you have a long name it gets shortened and a short name is lengthened.

My brother was named Paul because it couldn’t be shortened but due to our surname he was known as Huey all his life! 😂

why do people resurrect these ancient threads?

why do people resurrect these ancient threads?

Either because they appear (presumably via an algorithm?) as 'similar threads' to the current one that you're on - without clearly showing a date and pretty much inviting you to engage - or because somebody harks back to them fondly on a new thread, posts a link for those who say "No, I've heard people mention that one, but I've never seen it; do you have a link?" and then they don't realise/forget that it's a well-seasoned vintage thread and eagerly add their own contribution at the end.

Paperlate · 15/05/2023 22:29

She called him Arthur short for Arthursixpence

Had a memory of this thread, but couldn’t find it. Thankfully linked on an unrelated thread just now.

I love a bit of daft MN!

Hugo is fine on its own. Hugh is better.
