I almost named dd Clara, but I was reliev d that I didn't as 2004 was peak Clara time in France and there were 4 Claras in her class. I still get a little twinge every time I hear the name though as I love it - so elegant with a whiff of European about it.

bonbonours · 27/12/2017 22:34

It's what my daughter, Cara gets called by a fair few people.....

ladybug92 · 27/12/2017 22:35

dotdotdotmustdash · 27/12/2017 22:41

I find it a bit wet. Carly or Carla sound stronger to me.

Prictoriafeckam · 27/12/2017 22:42

Yes, the Nutcracker heroine, and also the wife of Robert Schumann, an accomplished composer in her own right. And Clara Butt the singer that Elgar said could be heard from the other side of the Channel, one of the first performers or "Sea Pictures" .

Rainbowmother · 27/12/2017 22:42

A character in Mallory towers - Enid blyton. She had green eyes like fairy folk apparently so I always think of that

Ohyesiam · 27/12/2017 23:20

The nutcracker.
To me the name sounds elegant and refined.

villainousbroodmare · 27/12/2017 23:22

Blonde flat fringes, spectacles, shyness, chilblains, pianos, twisting hands around each other, black tights on thin legs. You asked!

Spartasprout · 27/12/2017 23:23

David Bowie eight line poem. Clara puts her head between her paws (so assuming Clara is a dog)
