Which spelling is the nicest? I think I’m leaning towards Cally but it also seems to be the least conventional.

Callie
Definitely not Cali

JustPutSomeGlitterOnIt · 20/12/2017 22:20

We have a baby Cali, DD3. We like how it looks like the shortened state.

I love the meaning of Kali but was too nervous that most people wouldn't understand its heritage and just think it looked a bit Kardashian Blush

JustPutSomeGlitterOnIt · 20/12/2017 22:23

Saying that, I did have my entire family take the piss for a good month. The babes.
It's not for everyone apparently 🙄
Cally is a more common spelling I think.

rachrach2 · 20/12/2017 22:25

Callie is my favourite!

rachrach2 · 20/12/2017 22:27

I just accidentally commented on an old post about the same name, oops! Was looking for longer suggestions but think Callie is my favourite of all of them anyway.

chocolatepudandchocolatesauce · 20/12/2017 22:30

I like Callie. Calliope sounds like a melon (i know its cantelope but it just reminds me of it!)

littlemissalwaystired · 20/12/2017 22:37

Callie, definitely.

TheCraicDealer · 20/12/2017 22:54

I know a baby Kali, but it's short for a certain GoT character name.

WowserBowser · 20/12/2017 22:57

I really like Callie!

Don't like Cally or Cali though.

And I don't think it needs to be short for anything

buttercup54321 · 20/12/2017 23:15

Callie. short for Caitlin.

Winterandspring · 20/12/2017 23:27

Caitlin’s nickname would be Cate/Cait, surely?

I like it and like it as Callie but I immediately thought Calleigh off CSI Miami.

Callie, Cally or Cali?
SuburbanRhonda · 20/12/2017 23:36

My auntie is Cally short for Caroline. Could also work for Catherine or Camilla or any number of names

Cally is not a short version of Catherine 🙄

Winterandspring · 20/12/2017 23:39

What an odd post, mammy

HuskyMcClusky · 20/12/2017 23:45

Callie, definitely.

Never seen Cally. It looks odd.

Cali is California.

Amy106 · 21/12/2017 00:30

Callie

Viviennemary · 21/12/2017 00:34

I've not heard of it before. Don't think there's much to choose from in the spellings. It's pretty dire IMHO.

PolkadotsAndMoonbeams · 21/12/2017 00:35

Callie. The one I know is a Cornelia, somewhat bizarrely! I think it's fine as a standalone name though Smile

iggleypiggly · 21/12/2017 00:59

How about Calla??

Hadenoughtoday · 21/12/2017 01:11

My 21yr old daughter is called Cally and she was the only one in her junior school, senior school, college and Uni - not even a Callie or Cali. We found it as a shortened version of Calandra (which we didn't like but instantly loved Cally)

octoberfarm · 21/12/2017 11:32

Definitely Callie for me - I love it! I think you could also get away with Cali though, if you really liked that version. Cally to me looks more like a nickname for something else.
