Sorry but how is it pronounced.

ShizzleYoDrizzle · 09/12/2017 21:26

Is it pronounced like Sealy? I've never heard of it before and would assume it was short for Celia or Cecilia.

AdalindSchade · 09/12/2017 21:26

Looks unfinished

Tinselistacky · 09/12/2017 21:27

Reminds me of that character in Monsters Inc. Celia Welia Mike called her!!

notacooldad · 09/12/2017 21:28

Is it
see lee?
sell e?
or something else?
Please don't take that as a criticism. It's just that I haven't come across that name before so I don' know anything about it.

Awwlookatmybabyspider · 09/12/2017 21:28

Or a unique spelling for Kellie?

Iamagreyhoundhearmeroar · 09/12/2017 21:29

It's half a name.

LunasSpectreSpecs · 09/12/2017 21:29

Seh-lee? See-lee?

Agree, it looks like Celia spelled wrongly.

Codlet · 09/12/2017 21:38

I think it’s pretty. It reminds me of Amelie (which I prefer to Amelia). But agree not obvious how to pronounce it.

Farontothemaddingcrowd · 09/12/2017 21:40

Makes me think of the oppressed and abused narrator of The Color Purple.

Rainbowandraindrops67 · 09/12/2017 21:52

Cealiac?

Go with Cecelia - that’s a lovely name

Rainbowandraindrops67 · 09/12/2017 21:52

Or Cecily

PeasAndHarmony · 09/12/2017 22:06

Is Celie actually a name? It sounds made up or half of a proper name!

Celia and Cecelia are much nicer.

NannyR · 09/12/2017 22:08

It's pretty but I would go for Celia or Cecelia and call her Celie for short.

slimyslitheryslug · 09/12/2017 22:11

What every else has said & far too similar to "Silly" for me to burden a child with it.

MrsPringles · 09/12/2017 22:15

My immediate thoughts when first reading that was that its pronounced ‘silly’

So it’s a no from me. Sorry

Mclaren37 · 10/12/2017 03:20

I like it as a short name for Cecelia or Celia (like the character Celie in the Color Purple?).

17caterpillars1mouse · 10/12/2017 08:01

Reminds me of the seeley court in the realm of the fae lol not an association many would probably make. I like the look of the name but not the sound

Potteryprincess30 · 10/12/2017 08:57

Thanks for the feedback, really struggling with a name. It is pronounced see-ly, and the main character from the colour purple does have the same name, it is a french name also. I can see what people mean by 'unfinished' as I imagine a lot of people would assume it was short for Celia/Cecelia

MegAndSprog · 10/12/2017 10:20

I know it as Célie (French - sounds closer to “SEH-lee”) and like it, but it does feel quite sweet and nicknamey. I like that style actually, but I know lots of people on here prefer a longer “formal” name - perhaps Celine, Celina, Celia, Cecily, Cecilia....

Pemba · 10/12/2017 11:08

Nothing wrong with it, but I would prefer Celia or Cecilia.

Sugarpiehoneyeye · 10/12/2017 11:19

Celine is lovely !

Doubletrouble42 · 10/12/2017 11:23

I really like it x

NinonDeLenclos · 10/12/2017 13:17

Why not go with Celine or Cecilia with Celie as her nickname.

SweetheartTreacleTart · 10/12/2017 13:26

I like it.
