One week old: Eleanor or Georgina?

Hi all, James, Isabella and Charlotte’s little sister is here safe and sound. She is a dote, albeit a nameless one.

We are down to our final two names, no new suggestions please! We love both names and cannot decide.

So what do you think?
Eleanor Georgina
Or
Georgina Eleanor

Both are lovely but prefer Georgina. Congratulations.

IVflytrap · 07/12/2017 16:52

I prefer Eleanor over Georgina, although Georgie is a cute nickname. Eleanor does seem to fit the style of your other dc's names better. As for shortenings, it doesn't have to be Ellie. She could be Nell, as others have mentioned, Ella, Leni or Lennie, Nora... all much less common than Ellie, but still possible nicknames.

Movablefeast · 07/12/2017 20:04

Georgina - stronger with more personality, beautiful name.

Mrsknackered · 07/12/2017 20:28

She is lovely. Both are sweet but I love Georgina. It ages well and has so many nicknames (George, Georgie, Gigi, Gina) all Eleanor's I know have become Ellie's, whether it's their choice or not too!
I think it was quite popular in the 90's as I know a lot my age.

What a lovely baby girl

Both names are lovely but I think Eleanor goes better with your other children’s names.

Rainbowandraindrops67 · 07/12/2017 20:33

Georgina

Only because your Isabella may end up being Bella at some stage and you don’t want an Ellie/Ella and Bella

Now if you can be persuaded by Helena... Wink

53rdWay · 07/12/2017 20:34

I’d lean towards Eleanor, but they’re both nice. Gorgeous baby!

kaytee87 · 08/12/2017 13:52

@Fakingit36 it's pronounced elen-or in the uk too. Elena is a different name

kaytee87 · 08/12/2017 13:53

I prefer Eleanor op and I quite like Elle and Ellie as nn

Fakingit36 · 08/12/2017 14:01

I know but it’s the way people have the exaggerated r’s here- it really sounds different. Like when people talk about Eleanor Roosevelt.

kaytee87 · 08/12/2017 14:13

Not sure what you mean. I would pronounce the R too, I'm in Scotland maybe some places in England don't pronounce the R 🤷🏼‍♀️

averythinline · 08/12/2017 14:17

Georgina - first, would really suit her , also classic but less of them around ...she looks gorgeous ...Smile

starkid · 08/12/2017 15:05

Georgina Eleanor :)

She's lovely!

MikeUniformMike · 08/12/2017 15:15

Eleanor pronounce EL-en-uh is ok, but El-in-OR isn't (IMO and I doubt I'm alone)

stopbeingadramallama · 08/12/2017 17:15

She's so cute 😊

buttercup54321 · 08/12/2017 22:03

Georgina Eleanor. Congratulations she is beautiful xx

Doingthebattybat · 08/12/2017 23:43

Oh my word she is adorable. Congratulations.
Georgina Eleanor. But I’m biased as DD is a Georgina.

sinceyouask · 08/12/2017 23:50

Eleanor Georgina. She's lovely, congratulations.

Amy106 · 08/12/2017 23:52

Beautiful, beautiful baby. I like Georgina. Flowers

LegArmpits · 08/12/2017 23:57

She looks a bit like my G-Child when she was a newborn 11 years ago... ❤️

Joskar · 08/12/2017 23:58

I thought Georgina as soon as I looked at her. She's utterly delicious. Congratulations !

MajesticWhine · 09/12/2017 00:06

Georgina Eleanor

Buntysoven · 09/12/2017 00:33

Congratulations she's a real little beauty! I love Georgina so that gets my vote.

rowtheboats · 09/12/2017 04:31

@Fakingit36 isn’t Eleanore always pronounced Elen-ore?!!! It is in England and Australia. Elena is a different name isn’t it?! Hope I haven’t been calling people the wrong name this whole time!

Wow OP she is absolutely gorgeous. I think both names are nice and both go with your other DC’s names. I would think it’s choosing between Ellie or Nell/Nellie and Georgee/George?

Aliciahartismyhero · 09/12/2017 04:46

Ah congratulations! I'm biased as my sister is eleanor but she is truly awesome and can attest it's great name!
